‘W’ Gets Satirical Poster, New Cast Member

Oliver Stone’s W., with Josh Brolin set to star as President George W. Bush, has had some developments in the past day. On top of news that the production started filming last week, we also got our first look at a teaser poster, and learned that Jesse Bradford (Swimfan; Bring It On) will play one of Bush’s college friends and frat buddies.
As you can see from the poster above, Stone’s claim of making an honest non-biased Bush biopic is not looking so great, considering we’ve heard and seen the clips of these Bush-isms in Michael Moore movies. Then again, maybe Stone will paint Bush as a lovable idiot who occasionally mis-speaks.
I doubt it. But anyway, most of these Bush-isms are pretty damn funny, I just hope we don’t have an entire two-hour movie of Brolin saying shit like “I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully” and “I can pressed when there needs to be pressed; I can hold hands when there needs to be … hold hands.”
As for the other bit of news, I’m a little baffled. Not by the casting of Jesse Bradford as a college student, he looks enough like a college student. But, who is playing George Bush as a college-aged kid? I just keep getting this image of Josh Brolin as a 21 year-old in my head. It makes me laugh. Maybe W. is the new Private Parts! Hey, we all misunderstood Howard Stern for all those years, maybe we’ve just been misunderstanding Bush for the last eight. Or maybe they just haven’t cast a young Bush (or maybe I just don’t know who it is).
Either way, I’m still looking forward to this film. In my opinion you don’t need to be a Dem or a Republican to enjoy an Oliver Stone satire. And because I’d rather vote for Barack Obama over Bush, that doesn’t make Obama a better film character. Far from it, I think this is going to be a fun film. I mean, come on, they have Scott Glenn as Donald Rumsfeld—“Put the WMDs in the basket. Put the f*cking WMDs in the basket.”
Sound Off: Love him or hate him, you have to admit he’s entertaining. What is your favorite Bush-ism?

If this movie actually ends up “un-biased” I will punch myself in the stomach as hard as possible on film.

Robert, I won’t watch you make a snuff film. ;-)
(bushe has killed enough all ready.).
Robert un-biased ?, That’s how Stone is getting away with it.
He’s only showing true moments that we’ve all seen before or that have been covered.
They just happen to be the most embarassing moments.
Robert do you have a release date on this one?

The planned release date is supposedly October 2008, but we’ll see.
And if you show true moments, but only the bad ones, or ones that reflect poorly on Bush, then its biased as it does counter those with good things.
I try to stay away from politics on the internet and this site especially and merely am just going on record as saying that regardless of how anyone feels about Bush, this will most likely not be an unbiased look into his Presidency. And I stand by my Boiling Point about how this is much too soon.
