Judging by This Poster, This Movie Will Be a ‘Disaster’
First Look By Neil Miller on May 31, 2008 | Be the First To CommentThere are some of you out there who still may not have gotten the joke, so I will explain it to you. The movie is titled Disaster Movie. As well, it is being made by the same people (Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer) who brought you Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie and Date Movie. Now do you get the joke?
Don’t worry, I can wait…
Anyhoo, since I almost convinced myself that God was punishing my for all the “sins of the flesh” in my past by forcing me to watch Meet the Spartans a few weeks back, I have little hope that Disaster Movie will turn out to be nothing more than a reason to put me on suicide watch. Yet, despite the fact that I loathe the very existence of movies such as this one, I do understand why they continue to emerge from the depths of Hades — money. Yes, thanks to Joe Blow public and all of his Frenchy friends, movies like Meet the Spartans continue to take in worldwide grosses well over $80 million dollars. That means two things: more spoof movies and more terrible Paris Hilton references are sure to be abound.
For Disaster Movie, the spawns of cinematic Satan Friedberg and Seltzer will take on Al Gore’s theories about Global Warming, spoof movies like The Day After Tomorrow and yes, even throw in an Enchanted reference, for good measure. I’ve got an idea, how about we make a movie called Lets Not Make Any More Ridiculous Spoof Movies Movie. Like Disaster Movie, it can also star Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Matt Lanter and Vanessa Minnillo. Mmmm… Matt Lanter.
Disaster Movie will be raking in your hard earned McDonalds Monopoly Bucks when it hits theaters on August 29.
Oh, and for those who are really interested in seeing the hi-res version of the poster, just give the image at the top and be transported over to Cinematical, which has proudly claimed the exclusive on this one.
