Welcome to this week’s Top 5 Movies, brought to you by RankAMovie.com

Even though Halloween was several weeks ago, the Horror films continue to be a very popular topic. Maybe it’s due to last week’s Batman list, which brought a dark shadows to the big screen. Or maybe people aren’t ready to get into the December holiday spirit, so horror films appeal to their anti-holiday spirit.

Below is a list of the top 5 movies for Horror, as ranked by the visitors of RankAMovie. If you would like to add a movie to the list, or cast a vote for the ranking order, visit RankAMovie and make your opinion heard.

1. The Exorcist
A memorable story about a little girl challenging a priest’s ability to overcome the devil. This film will make your head spin!

2. The Shining
Here’s Johnny! Yes, Stephen King shows us why the combination of writing a book in the dead of winter is not a good idea. Or maybe it’s the little boy looking into mirrors that freaks us out.

3. Psycho
This classic makes us not want to shower ever again! Truly a classic movie, with amazing camera angles and lighting.

4. Jaws
Best movie to watch one week before traveling to a tropical paradise for a vacation. Not only is this a fun and fantastic movie to watch, you’ll also get to see some great actors early in their careers.

5. Halloween
A true horror film list wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of a film about Halloween. The musical score terrifies us almost as the images. An excellent film to watch alone in the dark.

In addition to the normal Top-5 list, here are some honorable mentions of films that are quickly rising the horror film charts: What Lies Beneath, Misery, The Hills Have Eyes.
