Features By Benjamin Chalek on February 27, 2007 | Be the First To CommentWelcome to this week’s Top 5 movies about Boats, brought to you by RankAMovie.com.
Boats have a mystical quality. The salty-sea air, the mist in the wind, and the rocking of the boat. It’s sometimes hard to imagine that a motion camera could capture a film in such an environment. Below are some very good movies that takes place on a boat.
- The Hunt for Red October
This boat movie shows Jack Ryan in the early stages of his career. A drama
involving a Russian submarine and America’s concerns about war. - Show Boat
A movie about the famous Broadway musical. It has colorful tones and great
songs, but the film doesn’t quite capture the Broadway quality. - The Caine Mutiny
If there’s ever a drama on a warship, it will usual involve a mutiny and court
martial. The character development is wonderful, and the directing is superb. - Mutiny on the Bounty
Marlon Brando on a boat! We accompany a boat’s crew across the ocean. There’s
drama, cruelty, and beauty. By the end of the film, you may want to see the
georgeous scenery of Tahiti. - Ship of Fools
A boat full of interesting people, set in the period right before World War
II. The characters are entertaining, and the dialogue is pretty good.
