i think it was a mistake to include the big shoot-out in "wanted" on this list. even if you try to work the whole "peter parker gone wrong" angle, you still end up with james mcavoy shooting guns, which just looks ridiculous. mcavoy may be a good actor, but he doesn't have enough presence to pull off convincingly an action sequence. isn't this why he was cast as a replacement soldier who dies in his first battle in an episode of "band of brothers"?

I gotta agree with Curtis G. If you're gonna have a mediocre movie with a great fight scene, that would be it.

I would say 100% a nod to "John Woo" considering the white doves are almost a trademark of his and "Charlie's Angels" was both a bad movie and paying homage to John Woo in itself. Though their unathletic spinning jump kicks were closer in skill level to Drew Barrymore, but hey, we can't all be Chow Yun Fat.

Would you say "6. Back to back spinning jump kicks in front of flying doves" in Step Brothers was a nod to John Woo? A friend thinks it's a nod to Charlie's Angels. Thanks a lot.

TDK was a good movie, but the only action sequence that stood out was the chase with the batpod and the big rig, which, at the end of the day I decided wasn't a "fight" and was a pure chase. Neither The Joker or Two-Face has the skill to fist fight Batman, so it was reasonable neither of them tried.

The LARP scene was awesome (Role Models was one of my favorites of the year too), the KISS costumes were great. What state are our action movies in when 3 of the best fights could have easily come from comedies? (Role Models, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express) I didn't put them all on, because that would be a little too much comedy at the expense of some traditional blood.
