Deadpool #27 from April 1999. I think its page 10 of that issue. Buy up as much of that series as you can (it ran for 69 issues). I think I was only missing like 3 issues at one point. Now they're in storage somewhere. =|

I think it's interesting that Wolverine wasn't an original member of the X-men. It feels like he always has.

I liked the one set in the future where he and Storm are about the only ones left from the original team when the Sentinals took over.

I am not a comic book fan. I am a huge nerd…comic books are actually my achilles heel of nerd-dom. What I know of superheroes are from cartoons, and movies, and the occasional videogame. As such I haven't had much exposure to deadpool…but from what I have seen he seems a bit like the superhero version of House…but instead of medical mysteries he just wants to fight.

As such it seems like the perfect recipe for a spinoff of some sort, the anti-hero you either hate to love or love to hate. Since I have no ideas about how he should be portrayed I apologize to EVERYBODY who knows anything about Deadpool for wanting a spinoff…but he might be a character I buy my first superhero comic for.

great post…it just reminds me how many liberties Fox has taken with the stories and characters just to appeal to a younger audience..I'm just hopeful for a Lady Deathstrike re-match in Wolverine 2

this was a pretty interesting read, actually. I'm often confused about the origins of Wolverine and the X-Weapon program. I think you cleared that up for me now, thanks.

you forgot one more love interest: Storm. Didn't Wolverine and Storm almost fall in love during a story plotline from the mid 2000s? I can't remember which series this was from, maybe Uncanny X-Men, Ultimate X-Men or Astonishing X-Men? (damn there are too many series for me to follow)

Ahh the classics. I liked the comics up until they started creating more Wolverine titles than I have fingers and toes. But I am amazed at all the useless Wolverine knowlege I have and most of that is from my buddy Alan who not only collected but looked dead like Wolverine down to his height and ability to grow hair.

Barry Windsor-Smith's "Weapon X" is the best Wolverine story ever, in my opinion. I had hoped that someday this would be realized on screen, but unfortunately it will never happen. A must-read for Wolverine fans.
