We had Milla Jovovich walking around in black boots and a red dress and her trying (and failing miserably) to 'act'. Most fans of the video game were not impressed and there was nothing much for non fans to be impressed by either. The movie had a long slow start and when it got going it was just depressing with no wit or imagination in the script. it was not a long film either which makes it a bigger mystery. The zombies were disappointing and the dogs looked tacky, the CGI of the monster was bad. The film also produced two even worse sequels and there is another one in production, I just hope the next one is the last. Alone in The Dark is one of my all time fave movie. It's almost a conceptual movie by all the evidences it's not a movie. And I'm sure his name will stay famous fo decades as it happened for Ed Wood... By the way his recent "tunnel rats" movie is decent.
