Everyone likes to have a laugh at the SyFy original pictures once in awhile, but not me.  I admire the honesty of a title like Mongolian Death Worm. It’s not trying to trick you.  It wants you to know exactly what’s coming at you.  Even without the official synopsis, I can take a guess that the film will take place in Mongolia.  People will do things that anger or attract Death Worms.  Some will die.  Two or so shall live.  Let’s check the official synopsis below to see how close I came.

Synopsis:

Treasure hunter Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints, Young Indiana Jones) and U.N. aide worker Victoria Pratt (Day Break) find themselves battling local bandits while searching for Genghis Khan’s secret tomb in central Mongolia. The crypt is guarded by man-eating Mongolian death worms, who grow very angry at being disturbed.

Well I didn’t foresee the Genghis Khan connection, but we’re in the same ballpark.  Anyway, how about you take a look at this trailer?  Sure, it looks a bit low budget, but the worms aren’t horrible.  This looks like another installment from SyFy that could be a pretty entertaining time if you’re willing to just go with it.  Though, maybe you should set your DVR for this bad boy and go see Iron Man 2 instead.  I hear the CGI is about 10% better.

Check out the trailer and photos below. Mongolian Death Worm premieres tonight (May 8) at 9/8c on SyFy.
