Our pets do feel like our children. I volunteer for our local Humane Society. I only wish when Jessie Pullins was speaking to the volunteer on the phone, he had asked her, "If you had been separted in a hurricane from your child and you were not able to locate where your child had been taken for more than a year, and when you found your child, you were told you could not have your child back and you should just 'understand', How would you feel?" I 'm sure it wouldn't have gotten her to help reunite him with his dog, but I would hope it would point out the arrogance of these volunteers, organizations, and even the well intentioned people who have adopted the rescued animals. Even if you have fallen in love with the pet, how can you not return a furry child to its loving parent.
