Moore was the best Bond!!!

He was camp, sleazy and comical. That´s exactly how Bond should be played - in my humble, but expert, opinion.

Perhaps we can look at things in a more diplomatic fashion and breakdown each actor into they way they portrayed Bond:

Connery doesn't just get credit of being the best Bond because he was the first, he gets it because he was most able to connect the darker aspect of Bond with the playboy aspect of the character that truly realized the "Gentleman Killer".

Lazenby and Dalton often get the short end of the stick when it comes to their portrayal of Bond, but they pretty much created the style that Daniel Craig is currently perfecting, that of a Bond who is as equally comfortable strangling you with his bare hands as he is with screwing your girl after he has strangled you with his bare hands.

Brosnan was a pretty damn good Bond (as evidenced with "Goldeneye"), but by the time "Die Another Day" came around, he was an updated Roger Moore complete with corny cliche's and outlandish tech (invisible car? ice castles?)

Craig should defnitely be on this list because he singlehandedy saved the franchise and restored the good name of Commander James Bond. Were it not for him, 007 would have been the bitch of the OTHER two JB's who were kicking ass and taking names: Jack Bauer and Jason Bourne. He stripped Bond of all the gimmicks, gave him heart and purpose, and brought the man into the 21st century.

LAZENBY AS #1!!! That's just silly! He was in one movie! Brosnan seemed like he was going to breakout into tears at any moment. Dalton's movie's felt like B-movie's. Moore's did have the greatest henchman in Jaws.(You almost wanted to root for him instead of Moore's Bond). Craig is second because he brings a ruthless, brutal assassin quality to the role.

But #1 will always be Sean Connery!

Moore is the best Bond, then Brosnan, and Craig's good but I didn't like Casino Royale. There is no way that Casino Royale is the most exciting Bond film, because it really, really drags at the end when he's recovering with a lot of blatant product placement in this one part. That and the poker were boring and I thought unnecessary. The action in the beginning was good though, so I have high hopes for Quantum of Solace since I havent seen it yet

Daniel Craig is the best Bond. However no one can deliver 'the names Bond, James Bond' like Connery. Thats why i'm glad Quantum is its own film and doesn't crowbar in everything we've seen before.

Nick, that argument doesn't really hold up, i didnt watch the dalton bond movies until years after they were released, so saying the audiance wasn't ready for them when they came out doesnt explain why no one watching them now doesnt like him in the role

Roger Moore overall is the best Bond.
He's the Tom Baker of James Bond films.
(That's a Doctor Who reference btw).....
"The Spy Who Loved Me" was the best Bond film.... "To Live and Let Die" was the second best.... :-)

Craig represents the "new series" just like the (New Doctor Who) series has changed the look of "Dr Who".

Craig is great but Moore has a firm place in the Bond Legacy,,,,,,

Roger Moore overall is the best Bond.
He's the Tom Baker of James Bond films.
(That's a Doctor Who reference btw).....
"The Spy Who Loved Me" was the best Bond film.... "To Live and Let Die" was the second best.... :-)

Craig represents the "new series" just like the (New Doctor Who) series has changed the look of "Dr Who".

Craig is great but Moore has a firm place in the Bond Legacy,,,,,,
