To me, that's wrong and just in poor taste. I feel as though people think I feel racist from a more audience aimed perspective. No, no, people eat that shit up. It's why they added it. Like I said, it's more of a creative thing, that I see and don't understand why it needed to be done that way.

Plus, to add to the Observe and Report statement. I loved your review and agreed on many points. I actually ended up loving the movie for how different it pushed to be and found the darkness pretty funny. It turned a lot of my friends off and many people I know saw the racism and dickness of Seth Rogen's character off-putting. I feel as though that racism has an edge of ignorance though. Ronnie is set-up as cocky, asshole, who chases his dreams in his own way. I feel like Jody does that with Foot Fist Way too. The racist scene just pushes that thought into our head that, “Wow, this guys a dick. This is ridiculous though. How could you do that?”

I find it laughable though somewhat disheartening that a film that uses Spongebob Squarepants as the voice for an immature, juvenile character is being hammered as “racist” while a film like Observe & Report that features blatant, on the page racism from the protagonist and dozens of other comedies that point at 'middle America' (a favorite target of many writers, even on this site) and ridicule them. It's the same hate, though apparently that's all good.

I've got to say Landon Just destroyed Adam. Adam tried to use the Morals arguement and it backfired fully.

Adam then says, “Having said that, I would say the masses of film critics have spoken out and said this movie is pathetic.” Funny that kinda sounds like hes rallying the “critic” masses to me. Even though he pokes fun at Landon for doing the same with us “regular” movie goers.

So, I take it you watched in IMAX and didn’t mind the switching between native and widesceen? I think it’s a cop-out. I paid for Dark Knight in IMAX, but after reading, I don’t see the point in paying for this. I mean aside from my dislike of the film.

I guess I see what you mean about treating it differently. There’s plenty of action movies to laugh at already though. And I feel as though I shouldn’t have to. I loved the first movie for what it was, it didn’t need special glasses to watch. It was a good summer blockbuster with good action, sweet car chases and some narrative. Even people who thought the bot fights were poorly choreographed enjoyed it. Why should this be any different?

I suppose I can at least be thankful this movie didn’t set-up a third film.

Call me racist, call me crass. I don’t give a shit. Even a friend of mine who’s black didn’t see anything wrong. I see bad decision making though and regardless of looking past all this and pretending it’s ok, I still feel the way I do. To be fair though, the only last extreme of this I could see, that would actually make people open their eyes is if they made Mudflap shine Optimus’ shoes or something. Honestly. And even then, people would still say, “Oh, I don’t get it… What’s racist? Any color person can shine shoes…”

Instead, it's too stupid and cheesy for it's own good, and I find myself wishing I had taken my money and used it for something better.

There wasn't enough action, and when there was, it was not that great. Too much was wrong with this film for me to sit back and relax and not question the Michael-Bay esque shit that was before me.
