Why Watch? After a week of 1-minute shorts, it’s nice to get back to something a bit more “long form,” and this crime world thriller from Ayz Waraich is just the deliberate gun blast we’re asking for. With ominous dialogue and a poetically active camera, this is the sweaty result of what happens after you make just one bad decision.

There are a few rough edges, but without them, it would be easy to think this was done by a major director taking a break from $90m action flicks to make a great short. More than anything, it’s a heaving breathe of fresh industrial air to see a filmmaker keep a camera calm while still injecting energy. Even though it’s always moving, it’s only jarring when it needs to be, and that selectivity makes the impact that much stronger (and the work that much more beautiful).
