I was an 8-year old white belt at a surburban karate dojo in central TX when this movie came out, and at that time Chuck Norris suddenly showing up at a tournament, or even at my dojo, seemed totally plausible to me.

A few months later, a poster of Sidekicks signed by Chuck Norris showed up on one of the walls of the dojo, which, again, totally made sense at the time, but now the idea of a white, middle-aged karate instructor in Waco, Texas sincerely venerating this ridiculous film as much as one of his single-digit students did is hilarious to me.
