Great movie, great article. One thing though, Jimmy Fallon distracted me in this one. But I wonder if it's because he's so recognizable now. Would it have distracted me when this came out? Crowe is a golden god, I'd take Vanilla Sky over Abres Los Ojos any day.

There's no doubt that there was some Zep influence, but the scene where he gets pulled into the huddle before the show was an experience he had with Pearl Jam. Allegedly he did hear Robert Plant say "I am a Golden God" before, though.

1 piece of trivia that i'm sure everyone knows: Nancy Wilson is married to Cameron Crowe. (and that's Wilson of Wilson-Phillips fame, btw.) she handpicked the music for this film.

and another thing…PEARL JAM!? Try Led Zeppelin. You know, the greatest band ever/how Cameron Crowe basically got his start and early accolades? and clearly who some of the characters (or at least moments with these characters) and obvs their looks are based on.

This is in my top ten movies. The "Tiny Dancer" scene, when he is given the albums…all of that. As a child of the 70's, I totally get it. Great movie.
