“There's no crying in baseball!!” If I ever meet Tom Hanks, the only compliment I will give him apart from the ones people have already given him, is: His hysterical yelling voice always makes my day!! Gotta love that man, even when he's babbling half-truths on the da vinci code. If I was his teenage daughter I wouldn't take him seriously when he yelled at me.

God I love this movie. You not only listed all the great points of this film, but you made me want to pull it out and watch it again. (Hey, the first game of the World Series was tonight so the timings right.)

Once again Dr. Abaius you made me fall in love all over again with a film I already loved.

I absolutely agree. This is a great movie, and I thoroughly enjoy it every time I watch it. And I actually like Rosie O'Donnell in it! ANY movie that can make me like Rosie is a miracle.

A bit of trivia: Jim Belushi was the orioginal choice for the role of Jimmy Dugan, but when Penny Marshall got the director's seat, she gave the role to Tom Hanks (who was great, but I think Belushi more looked the part). Still a great movie.

This movie is golden. Shame on you for not mentioning Bitty Schram before her time on “Monk!” The scene where Betty Spaghetti breaks down always gets me.
