Movie World Cup 2010: New Zealand vs Slovakia

Movie World Cup Fever is upon us, and we’re celebrating by getting shin guard deep into a massive competition that honors the cinema of each country in the Cup. For our weekly foreign film coverage, check out Foreign Objects, but stay tuned to our Movie World Cup for the next week and half as we need you to decide the winners.
Completely contrary to their standings in the real World Cup, and despite a surprise draw between the two teams today, Slovakia finds itself in a true David versus Goliath situation against the heaviest favorite in the entire competition. New Zealand’s Lord of the Rings: Return of the King faces off against the beautiful story of a murderess in Slovakia’s Bathory. Both films are fantastic in their own right, but only one can win, and the bets are all going against the handily-woven tale of Countess Elizabeth Bathory.
