Movie Style Guy: Hulk Thirsty!
Posted by Robert Fure (robert@filmschoolrejects.com) on June 12, 2008

You may have noticed by now that we Rejects are big fans of the drink, so it should come as no surprise that this week I’ve been busy looking around for some Hulk inspired alcohol. What I found just may amuse you.
We all know and love the Hulk for being a big strong brute, so it should make sense that a drink named in his honor kicks some ass. With that in mind, I took a few moments to try to come up with my own spin on a Hulk-like drink and came across a minor revelation. Any strong drink, colored green, can be called the Hulk. So feel free to mix and match your own.
The Incredible Hulk
This may even be trademarked or something, as it came about at Sean Comb’s New York restaurant “Justin’s.” During a Hpnotiq launch party, few men were drinking the blue fruity cocktail, so a bartender named Victor Alvarez mixed it with Hennessey, a cognac, to man it up a bit. The colors mixed to create a green shade that was apparently the hit of the party.
1 part Hpnotiq fruit liquor
1 part Hennessey cognac
You may be able to substitute in other brands, of course. Stir the two parts together and serve over ice.
The Hulk
Across the pond, drinking cider is a bit more common, and what do you know, if you mix Cider with the right beverage, you get an alcoholic green mixture. Several varieties of cider are available in the states, so feel free to track one done and give it a shot.
1 part Cider (hard cider, folks)
1 part WKD Blue Vodka Drink
Stir the ingredients together and serve chilled.
The Abomination vs The Hulk
Now those drinks sound well and good, but when I’m behind the bar I want to make drinks that put that “Holy shit” in “Holy shit I’m drunk.” So, with that mindset, may I recommend something with a bit more of a kick to it? Why thank you.
1oz Vodka
1oz Gin
1/2oz Tequila
Splash of Orange Liquor
4oz Sour Apple Liquor
Splash of Blue Raspberry Liquor
The idea behind adding the blue raspberry is solely to darken the color green we’re going to get. That step is completely optional. Shake the first four ingredients together over ice. Strain into a glass. Add the Sour Apple then splash the Blue Raspberry. Mix gently. Add up to three ice cubes and a cherry.
General Notes
To turn drinks green, you can go the direct route of a green liquor, or, to get darker shades, mix a light blue alcohol with something darker, like cognac or whiskey.
With these drinks at your disposal, no matter what you think of The Incredible Hulk you’ll be glad to have him at your after party. Before you know it, you and your guests will be shouting HULK SMASHED.
