date night is not anticipated by anyone, it's going to be trash. taking 2 big names in (television) comedy and putting them in a movie together does not automatically equal success. date night looks nearly as bad as get smart.

If you've seen the cartoon you know he won't do it justice. He's removed a lot of the Asian themes from the movie. made some horrendous changes and from the trailer some lackluster martial arts.

“Anime” is a Japanese word, but it doesn’t have to be from Japan, any more than burritos have to be from Mexico. There’s a style of artwork seen in it that is comparable to many Japanese “animes”. That being said, I hate most animes, but like Avatar – Maybe this is more due to the cultural touches, however.
