Being far older than the average FSR read (At 44) my idea of “So bad it’s to damn good to not love” is probably different than most folks here. The dick and fart comedies prevalent today do nothing for me. (Ironically, I have a love for Kevin Smith films. Go figure….) Nor do slasher films, so those choices, while appropriate, will never be in my “To watch” queue.

My first reaction on seeing the title of this list is, “No way. Good cheese ended with Ilsa: She Wolf of The SS. How the Hell is he going to come up with ten from the last decade?”

Well, you clearly proved me wrong. I'll grant that I don't agree with several of the selections, but you make such strong arguments for each film that I cannot disagree with your choices.

I did see Death Race in theaters. I loved it, despite the fact that it’s crap. Make that utterly ridiculous crap. Since Corman’s Death Race 2000 is a classic and favorite of mine how could I turn this one down?

Snakes on a Plane is another film that I know I’ll love. I missed it in theaters and have longed to rent it. How can it be bad? Well, don’t answer that, but you know what I mean?

Now Uwe Bole on the other hand epitomizes 21st Century crap. Unfortunately, unlike Roger Corman, Val Lewton or Ed Wood, Jr. the man has no vision. He probably has more talent than Ed Wood, Jr. (He, my dog has more talent than Ed Wood, Jr.) but possesses none of the appeal. Nevertheless, I’m endlessly fascinated with his career. Unlike Mr. Wood, he discovered a way of making money and has been very successful at it.

I guess that leads to my biggest question. What would any (Or each) of these films look like if Ed Wood, Jr, Val Lewton and Roger Corman were in their heydays and made by one of these directors? Oh, and what junk food would be good for an Ed Wood, Jr marathon? lol
