I’m glad you live up to your infamous reputation for being short-sighted. It’s first and foremost a love story which opens up the entire market of females, and it is an interesting take on the vampire mythos. I’m not sure if the film will hit the right notes, but it has the potential to.

And if we’re going by marketing, I could name a ton of movies that were advertised completely differently then how they turned out – Fight Club being my favorite example.

is your role as Twilight apologist going to end after its release, or will it continue through all three (or more) movies? Where exactly is this possible wider audience you speak of? It’s no good for real fans of horror, drama, or T&A. It’s obviously not a comedy, a kids movie, or a serious exploration of interspecies love, the Mormon religion, or ageism. And the only folks that have actually, ACTUALLY, read the book are teenage girls, older women who wish they were still teenage girls, and you. (And we all know what you wish you were…)

I think the movie has the possibility of appealing to a wider audience, and we don’t know whether they’ve taken advantage of that yet (since we haven’t seen the movie), And those that read the book argue that there’s a decent sub-section of non-teenage-girls that read it, but this soundtrack lands squarely in tweeny land.
