Exclusive: Mike Judge on ‘Extract,’ The Workplace, and Cruelty in Animation
Features By Cole Abaius on September 3, 2009 | (3) Comments
Mike Judge’s latest movie, Extract, is hitting theaters in the nuts tomorrow, and shockingly it’s being given some major press (even commercials!) this time around. After his huge success on television and the cult phenomenon that is Office Space, Judge has returned to the workplace after a stint in the distant future of Idiocracy where mankind is dumber than we are currently (somehow).
Say what you will about the man, but he’s created some enduring characters and was making movies about nothing during a time when studios thought that was crazy.
Plus, he gives one hell of a high energy interview.
I sat down with the animator/writer/director two weeks ago here in sunny Austin, Texas to talk about Extract, his surprisingly warm feelings toward Fox, and our undeniable human urge to see people get hit in the testicles with stuff.
Feel free to praise me on what I can assure you is a highly professional video introduction.
Editor’s Note: Special thanks to Luke Mullen for his incredible magic editing machine skills.
