Yeah, the show wasn't bad. And it definitely gets props for trying something new. I watched every episode. It could have been better though. I feel like it just hit a point where it was like "Ok well we've dropped 19 red herrings so now we can just totally trick them and be really obvious." The last 2 or 3 episodes had bad timing, felt rushed, and had some stupid reactions and obvious conclusions.

The Office Season 5.... well I at least have to rent it or something since Hulu was nice enough to not have every episode available when I was watching. Still waiting for the day Trick r Treat comes in October, that will be a must buy day for me!

I'm not sure either if the DVD has additional footage, but regardless I think the show started off pretty strong even if it couldn't maintain it through all thirteen episodes. At the very least it was an interesting attempt at "something fresh."

Saying that House of Games impresses is like saying that watching paint dry while it tries to psychoanalyze me impresses.

And no snarky comments about how impressive anthropomorphic paint would be. You get my analogy.

Re: Harper's Island. The "DVD Edition" while perhaps having a stupid name is more than just the complete series, I think. It was supposed to have extended scenes and more gore shots, but if they ended up doing that I don't know. The show wasn't that good.

Remember, I specified films that Mamet has directed... if I open the field to ones he's written then obviously my favorite would be We're No Angels.

Kidding.

But of his directorial efforts only House of Games, Oleanna, and Homicide truly impress. Although I haven't seen a few of the others including Redbelt.

As usual I find myself disagreeing with you, but not about any of these DVD picks.

House of Games? Really? Although it does explain your love of shoulder pads on women.
