1. The mindless fun movie that's actually a good movie. It's not as mindless, has great action, and you care about the characters.
2. The mindless fun movie that's awful when it comes to story but goes crazy on action. (This is where I'd place Revenge of the Fallen). Huge explosions. Way over the top. But frustrating when it comes to story.
3. The mindless fun movie that should have gone straight to DVD. This is where Chun-Li belongs and why there are no defenders. It's an awful movie. Terrible. Major jumps in logic, crazy plot holes. Ridiculousness abounds. It's MST3K-worthy.

There's a difference between bad acting like Megan Fox and Terrible, Soap Opera-style, Melodrama acting like Chris Klein delivers.

Plus, it seems easy to delineate between movies that set out to be huge and ridiculous, and those that try so, so hard to be taken seriously but fail miserably. Is it right to fault one and not the other? I think so. One sets out and achieves a goal. The other fails.

2. I know nothing about this movie, but I'm suddenly interested.

1. Not true. The action was good, there was a very simple plot, and Chris Klein was absolute comedy gold. I recommend owning movies you'll get repeat value from, and Chun Li is entertaining on multiple viewings. I promise.

2. It was hard and it took watching the movie again and again but I eventually came to the conclusion that a rental was the wisest choice.

4. Maybe not awful, but certainly boring. I enjoy slow movies if they're interesting and engaging (see The Pledge), but this movie was neither. Fans of the actors may want to check it out but otherwise I'd call it a pass.

1. The only reason you liked Chun-Li is because you made fun of it the whole time. People are going to expect a fun movie, and they'll get a choppy mess with no plot (and with some great action scenes) – but you are right about Chris Klein. I've never seen someone try so hard to be a badass…but worth it to buy it? Hell no.

2. Resisting the urge to put the movie with white panties, Asian girls and fingering in the BUY column? Well played.

3. Resisting the urge to put Jonas Brothers in the BUY column? Well played. Your secret's safe.

4. You and I totally disagree about Two Lovers, but since you don't have your normal word count to say why, I'm left wondering what was so awful about it. I actually found it to be a pretty thoughtful drama with strong performances. A slow burn, definitely, but I dug that.
