robert englund=freddy, james earl jones=darth vader. you cant replace them, you could only immatate them and thiers no need when dumbass platinum dunes could have simply asked robert (who wasnt asked nor was anyone but robert shaw involved with the original). verified on roberts official website, myspace fanclub and nightmare protest on myspace. robert wasnt even asked for a cameo who was at least hoping to get a cameo. hollywood is a cruel buisness and all paramount has been doing is comming up with reboot crapfests that shit on older fans and end up doing nothing (new line is a division of paramount) *cough craigs bond, star trek 2009*. jackie hailey sounds rediculous as freddy, i couldnt stop laughing. like having christian haydensen yell Nooooo as darth vader at the end of episode III of star wars.

yeah freddy serious is all great but freddy was suppose to be like the joker. plus it doesnt help when you have someone that sounds like a raspy elton john doing the voice over. that kind of kills serious and puts it into laughably funny. the new trailer with the voice is whats permanent and it plainly sucks ass. a big dissapointment and no watch from me. id rather have clancy brown who can do gravely in his sleep than hailey. even rorshak sounds better than the new trailer. he sounds like a gay new york biker. its like having elton john voice darth vader.

I really, really wished if englund wasnt asked (verified on his official website he wasnt nor was wes involved) that they would have given the part to clancy brown who can do gravely voices in his sleep whos miscased as the dad in this.

sorry but after seeing the official trailer and realizing platinum dune is a bunch of stupid * for not retooling the voice as promised, I'll pass. jackies natural voice sounds terrible, femmy and lispy. its like having elton john voice darth vader. His voice as rorshack would have been way cooler than using his village people femmy lispy new york voice. Im going to pass on even watching out of respect of roberts work. maybe platinum dunes will pull thier head out and have robert do voice over work? lol

Freddy's my boy, I was rooting for him in FvJ, and I'm vehemently opposed to the idea of a reboot on principle. Angrybroomstick, (great handle btw!) I agree with you on Jason – as long as they got the right size stuntguy, which it looks like they did, it had a shot at being half-decent. But Englund IS Freddy, there can be no other. Maybe I'm taking this too personally, but I'm frankly disgusted at Hollywood – especially if Lohan really will be involved. Her and Tyler Perry- kick 'em out of Hollywood now, before they both ruin movies forever.

As much as Freddy is important…Nancy is just as an important element to this movie….let's hope they shell out the extra money to attract a decent lead actress……I still can't believe they only spent 19million on the Friday The 13th remake…their Texas Chainsaw remake only cost 9million….Dunes has made a name for themselves let's hope Michael Bay uses some of that Transformers money to actually produce this thing properly…nothing is worse when the studio cheaps out on special effects which this one will have a high amount of….computer effects are bad enough in a traditional horror flick but when they're done cheaply it ruins a movie

I dont't thing it matters so much what he looks like. It's all about acting ability and Mr. Haley has that with out a doubt. I personally think that, while most people can't hold a candle to the original (of anything not just this film), Jackie would be perfect given a chance
