It seems like too direct of a question, but it’s been one weighing on my mind for some time. The news outlets and online film sites have been pushing the film in a strong, yet often quiet way, but it’s unclear as to whether the general audience will latch on to it. I realize that you, dear reader, are not exactly a general audience, but I’m even curious to see if film fans are looking forward to this one.

Of course, I sort of already know the answer: Hell Yes.

But if that’s the case, I guess the real question is a two-parter:

  1. Are you excited about Inception?
  2. If so, is it strictly because of Christopher Nolan?

These are legitimate questions. Nolan has never made a bad film (in fact his Memento topped our best of the decade list), and his last film was a herculean success. Does that mean Dark Knight fans will automatically lock targets onto this?

If the answer is yes, and if it’s only because of Nolan, that’s pretty fascinating proof of just how large this director’s cache is (and probably an interesting proof of auteur theory that Culture Warrior might find worthy enough to explore).

What do you think? Are you buzzing about Inception or is the hype passing you by?
