i have never seen another movie that better represents what it is to be a boy in your early teens than the Dangerous Life of Altar Boys. It gets over looked on many lists i think because its easy to not think of it as beeing a teen film since the characters are not in high school, that and its not widely seen.

The one that I think will have the most lasting power is Adventureland, which ironically isn't on the list.

I think that maybe Mean Girls, Donnie Darko, and Brick will be around for a while. The rest? I don't know, they'll probably be remembered the way people remember lesser John Hugues movies (i.e. Weird Science), with nostalgia for those who remember it, but not as appealing to the newly initiated.

What a great list. It's going to be really fascinating to see whether or not this generation's coming of age films have any lasting power. Somehow, it feels like they won't. Although I'm guessing no one thought Porky's would become a cultural icon, but still. What from this list will really stand out in 20 years? By this point, aren't they all just repeating the formula?
