Daily Diversion: Obama’s Inaugural Address

Posted by Dr. Cole Abaius (cole.abaius@filmschoolrejects.com) on January 20, 2009

We’ve been accused of being too political around here before. Most likely, because we supported Slimer from Ghostbusters for President. His platform of eating thirty or forty hot dogs all at once was too good a domestic policy to pass up.

Even though Slimer was ultimately defeated in the primaries, we’re still happy and hopeful that the next President will do a fantastic job. It may not seem movie-related – unless you consider that the speech will someday be performed by Denzel Washington in a biopic – but it’s too big an event to pass up even for us.

Slimer in 2012.

  • Well I passed. Sorry but the damage that is about to be done is not something I want to celebrate.
  • Yes, because we all know what is coming for this country ... more Kevin James films. Seriously though, give Obama a chance. Could he do ANY worse than George W.?
  • Actually yes, I lived through Jimmy Carter, and that is what PEBO is going to do a repeat of. All his policies are rehashed Carter and you haven't seen bad till you try to buy a house with interest rates at 17%, inflation thru the room, with a forced gas shortage inacted by the government.
  • Take that E out, my friend, that's PRESIDENT Obama, not President-Elect.

Yes I Can (correct a trivial acronym)!
  • I didn't elect him so to me he will always be PEBO. Or I can say the dreaded "H" word that was not allowed to be uttered during the election.......
  • Hillary?
  • Hope?
  • Aleric, like it or not, he is YOUR President. I didn't vote for George W. Bush but he was still my President. You can be mad about it but the fact is he is American's President. You're an American, yeah? So put 2 and 2 together.
  • Good one Josh.

Adam, I am not mad, I have a smile on my face every day. Just like I can recieve a pizza I didn't order, but that doesn't mean I am going to aaccept it and call it mine. Speak for yourself, so far I have the right to speak for myself.
  • you can indeed speak for yourself, it doesn't change the fact that technically you are wrong. He is America's President. You disliking him doesn't change that. And the pizza-President analogy is a loose one, at best.
