decent writing and characters with some substance kept me coming back for more. Also I grew up in the age of the late 80's and early 90's where every Saturday and Sunday on t.v. networks like TBS and USA showed 80's movie after 80's movie so I learned each and every one of them almost by heart. I think this helped my generation get to know the Hughes comedy better then anything cause its not like we had over a 100 channels or internet like today.

I was also in my early teens and grew up with these classic movies.
It was all about being different, about geeks vs preppies, computers, teen angst, and sexy girls.

Here is a tribute I did to the Howard Hughes movies that changed my life growing up.
Trailers and reviews of his best movies from the 80's
Watch and remember the good old days...
Ferris Bueller's Day off - http://www.previewfilms.net/details.php?image_i...
Breakfast Club - http://www.previewfilms.net/details.php?image_i...
Weird Science - http://www.previewfilms.net/details.php?image_i...
Pretty in Pink - http://www.previewfilms.net/details.php?image_i...
Sixteen Candles - http://www.previewfilms.net/details.php?image_i...

I was in the perfect age bracket for Hughes film (i.e. in 10th grade for Breakfast Club era) and watched Weird Science and 16 Candles again this weekend. Was pleasantly surprised how the good heartedness overcame the goofy haircuts and the movies stood up remarkably well and damn, did he break a lot of young actors' careers!
