Regarding Lost, Sun cheated back when Jin was a little bastard.

As to Dear John, I'm confused. I haven't seen it, but was under the impression that Tim does NOT die, but that John helps pay to save him and leaves the woman he loves to be happy with her husband.

In addition to Lost, I'd say another series that approaches cheating well, thoroughly, and in complex forms is Six Feet Under, especially in its final seasons.

i don't like likeable characters! i prefer imperfect characters so cheating isn't a trouble for me

I was also gonna mention Closer, one of my favorites of the decade.

I'm also curious why they revert to shying away from infidelity. Plenty of financially successful romantic films had cheating spouses/significant others, like Sleepless in Seattle and The Notebook. Even one of the most beloved characters on LOST is an adulterer and she and Jin are probably the emotional center of the show despite being secondary leads.

My favorite Culture Warrior ever! Seriously, great job Landon.

And I would suggest the Mike Nichols film 'Closer' if you haven't seen it. The absolute best and most honest film about relationships and infidelity. One of my favorites overall, but for this topic it's unbeatable.
