Countdown to Mystery Team: An Exclusive, Drunken Clip
Features By Neil Miller on May 21, 2010 | 1 Comment
Our countdown to the release of Mystery Team on DVD continues. Today we’re at T-minus 5 days and still counting as we bust out some exclusive content. Late yesterday, director Dan Eckman hit us with this new clip from the film. Allow me to set the scene. Jason (Donald Glover), the master of disguise, has gone rogue in his pursuit of answers in the big murder case. And in order to get the information he needs, he will have to infiltrate a corporate costume party and steal some sensitive documents. All is going well until he meets two party attendees (played by Matt Walsh and John Lutz) who insist that he stay for a few drinks. As you might imagine, a few drinks turns into a uniquely fresh experience for the unworldly Jason.
Note the expressiveness and hammed up performance from Donald Glover, who recently closed out a very successful season on NBC’s Community. It’s lovely. As well, scene-stealer Matt Walsh brings the house down with the clip’s final joke, as if to say, “yes, this movie just went there.”
