Last year at Comic-Con, a major announcement came that put every Burn Notice fan into a state of gleeful joy. Matt Nix and co. announced that a prequel movie starring Bruce Campbell as the beloved Sam Axe was in the works and that we would see it sooner rather than later. And after the amazing cliffhanger from this past winter, that sooner can’t come soon enough.

Well it looks like our first taste is here because USA Network has released the first trailer (or TV spot rather) for the upcoming TV movie Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe. Check it out after the jump.

Does it look like any other Burn Notice episode? Yup, but honestly what else would you have expected?

According to various cast and crew, the film is set during Sam’s final mission as a Navy Lieutenant. The film will reportedly explain how Sam ended up in Miami as well.

And while Jeffrey Donovan won’t be appearing as Weston in the film, he did take the reigns as director for it. The script was also written by Matt Nix himself. So it’s nice to see that every aspect of the film was kept in house.

Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe airs Sunday April 17th at 9/8c on USA.
