The term “disturbing” gets thrown around a lot these days, but I have to say, Eric Roberts in the true story “Star 80″…that performance was disturbing and the first time I saw Eric Roberts. He was “too good” if that’s even possible.

now now. different tastes. never Jean nor Pauly has done anything of critical acclaim. their stuff is more of the pure entertainment realm. some folks go for that, some don’t.

Sam Neill never left so he can’t come back. it just seems that way cause he went back home to the UK and most of his work has been there. and most of that has never shown here. although he rocked it on the Tudors.

There’s always room for other styles of humor to emerge. People will still go and pay to see physical comedy in a movie, Paul Blart is an example of that. Also compare Paul Blart to the movie Observe and Report, the first exemplifies the older style of humor and the latter is more like an Apatow movie. Which did better? And honestly which was funnier? Observe and Report felt disjointed and the plot was lacking in almost every category, pacing, dialogue, and on and on. There were a few funny parts, but they were few and far between and they wasted great talent wanting to get more cursing in. I actually don’t mind cursing at all, but when it replaces the entire dialogue then it’s not real writing. CB4 was filthy, but it was hilarious. All styles have a place, as long as they are given the proper support from their producers that is.

Neill was fantastic with Jurgen Prochnow in In The Mouth of Madness. That movie scared the crap out of me when I was younger.
