rommy — how is BIG FAN a pseudo-independent film? you have no idea what you're talking about. its probably about the most "independent" independent film to be shown at the festival in years. all self-financed, under 200K, no studio or agency support whatsoever.

this is a disappointing list. you’ve taken every big star/big budget faux-independent Sundance film and called it out here in this list.

after having gone to the Sundance for the last few years, the quality is not in the Jim Carrey, Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder films, it’s in the ‘below the radar’ foreign films and documentaries with no name actors, and hardworking rookie directors who busted their ass and faced immeasurable competition to get into the festival.

every big star ‘indie’ Sundance film has been a massive disappointment over the last few years. the few that made it through (barely) are Waitress and The Wackness which in retrospect weren’t really that good.

I’m insanely jealous of anyone who gets to go to Sundance. I get to stay here in the cold and work on my 10 page paper for one of my classes. Black Dynamite looks f*cking AMAZING!

I’m amazingly excited for Moon. My only worry is that the director/writers don’t really have an experience. Everyone else involved seems to be incredible. Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey in an eerie Moon-based film with Clint Mansell scoring it? Count me in. I just hope the directing and writing live up to the potential.

Oooooo another zombie thiller movie if I read it correctly. Dead Snow sounds like a horror hit as long as they used foreign language with a hot german actress. And Black Dynamite sounds Funky-Groovy-rific for my taste.

Dead Snow was actually going to be named Red Snow (Rød Snø), but the producers got forced to change the name due to a Norwegian TV-series by the name. Either way, it’s going to kick ass!
