On a more guilty pleasure note, I think a movie scored by Cake and written by John McCrea (lead singer) would be a truly fascinating experience.
I wouldn't understand half of it, but, damn, would I want to dance to it.

For some reason when making this I could swear up and down that Bad Brains actually did score a film at some point, and they narrowly missed the list. It’s still strange to think about them and Henry Rollins on the Pump Up the Volume soundtrack…

But, yeah, any hardcore band would be great. American Hardcore would be the closest thing to being completely hardcore score-wise. Would be great to see that translated to a narrative feature.

Especially a Katherine Heigl romantic comedy.

he Polyphonic Spree and Bjork actually have scored films. TPS scored Thumbsucker, and Bjork did all he music for and starred in her husband Matthew Barney’s Drawing Restraint 9 (which, granted, was exhibited more often as a feature length art installation rather than a commercial film). I’d like to see her score something more widely seen.

Rather than yelling at you for not finding a way to peer into my subjectivity and name my own personal favorite bands, I’m just gonna say good job, Cole

Actually, regarding Guided By Voices – OK, Bob’s not writing a score but Steven Soderbergh is apparently doing a 3D Cleopatra musical and using Guided By Voices sounds (with re-written lyrics) as the score.
