Yeah,there are. I'm what you would undoubtedly consider “old” and I remember when this movie was first released, as well as the first time I saw it. I read this column every week and appreciate the fact that this site that realized the importance, talent and art that old ass movies contain. I host a movie show in my city and show nothing but old movies (unfortunately, I'm confined to showing ones that are in the public domain), but there are a lot of good ones among that number. I get really annoyed by kids that wopn't watch a movie just because it's not in color – they're missing so much.

I love the intensity that all the actors bring to this film and it's still so relevant. I actually just rented it for my husband to see

The Jack Lemmon/George C. Scott remake, though watchable, it a pale shadow of the original. However, it’s still good for fans of the 2 actors.

Back in 2001, I a 1st year teacher at a charter school that was opened to help at risk kids. The only 2 electives there were art & reading. One of my more hardcore students in my reading class had seen this movie on TV & asked if we could read the script. I’d given up on finding a copy of the script when I found it in a random spot in a used book store. I’d make a 1 copy for every 2 students for each day & then shred the copies at the end of the day. I challenged the kids at the end of each day to give me good & bad points of each juror. The kid who recommended the story took over the discussion at my urging. (He would graduate & go to college.)
This is one of my favorite movies. The fact that it is tied to one of the best moments that I’ve had as a teacher only makes it sweeter.

Fonda is incredible in this film. An awesome movie – I defy most filmmakers to make a one-room, single-set movie and keep it compelling.
