You do an article on “slow cinema” and do not even mention Masters of the style like Bela Tarr, Antonioni, Dreyer, Sukorov. Either you a complete idiot or you haven't heard of these directors. Either way this list is still pretty idiotic except for The Stalker. Furthermore, I definitely would not put a movie like Treasure of Sierra Madre in this lot. To be honest the term “slow” cinema is stupid to begin with because I only find something slow when I am bored and think the music sucks.

Stalker and Solaris are my two personal favorite Tarkovsky films, and I see them as two very opposing sides of the same coin in terms of style, message, and genre. I chose Stalker here because I wrote about Solaris at length last June in my post comparing/contrasting it to 2001.

Wow, any list that has Cache as the top film is all sorts of awesome in my book! (By the way, I didn't find it slow in the least.

I might have chosen Solaris over Stalker but I can't fault you for the choice. (Well, okay, I could but I won't. lol)

Barry Lyndon is considered slow paced? That never actually occured to me. No wonder I get into so many arguments over that film. (I love it, but I'm one of the few people I know who do.)

Bergman was the master of slow, but interesting. 'Through a Glass Darkly' and 'Winter Light' are fantastic character studies that unfold at a snail's pace.

I'm really glad that Cache is on this list. My wife thought it was unwatchable, but I still consider it one of the best “slow thrillers” ever made.
