Uhh, guys you need to actually talk to a few veterns and people that are serving in Iraq. The Hurt Locker is NOTHING like what it like over there and never has been.

Kevin made a comment about a lot of movies made about Iraq…….where are these movies?? I know of three and they are all anti war movies that failed at the box offices. Could you enlighten me on all these movies that have been shown like they did in the 80's with Vietnam?

You're right. I have no idea what it's like over in Iraq, and depending on who you talk to, you'll get very different answers. What I was trying to say about liking the portrayal of Iraq was that it seemed to present the situation as a day-to-day living in the war rather than trying to make a grand statement.

As for movies made about Iraq, there've been a lot, either about the war itself (like In the Valley of Elah, Home of the Brave and Stop-Loss), the general war on terror (like Body of Lies, The Kingdom and Rendition) or the effects on the folks back home (like Grace Is Gone). Granted, I've hated most of these movies because they show all the soldiers as head cases. You are right. Most of them fail at the box office, for good reason. I thought The Hurt Locker portrayed soldiers as regular people, which is rare to see.

I agree with the showing soldiers as regular people since that is in effect what they are. Maybe Hollywood will decide to pull some of the great stories out there from the medal of honor winners we now have in Iraq. Then get a person like Dale Dye to head it up and make it right.
