gimme a break! the shows not bad, not bad plot. but BLONDIE IS GORGEOUS????
every 'other' woman on the show is a hell of a lot better looking. especially the one that looks like kim kardashian! even helen in her forties is hotter. not everyone loses their mind over a stick figure with straw coloured hair. keep that type of comment to yourself. if you want to promote the show based on how SEXY 'she' is, you'll lose viewers.

Agree with Flay. I could never get into this series because the acting was so poor. The effects are so-so but then I suppose the budget might account for this. Instead of showing this in America I think one of the big networks could remake it with a better cast, better scripts and spend big on effects, then sell it back to us.

i mostly agree with dan. but i even go further: i watched some episodes of first and second season and became pretty upset because of its idiocy. honestly i don't find any positive aspects: annoying stupid story, very poor acting, the jokes are only funny because they're so ridiculous...

and the effects? come on, they look more like uwe boll than industrial light&magic...

Will you look at that. A reasonably priced BBC Video set in America. Usually these things cost $70.

Wouldn't be the first time I disagreed with an entire nation (I'm looking at you Canada), but I stand by the review. I haven't caught up with the following seasons yet, so I can only speak to the first... and it is a fun, fast-paced show with great effects for TV, engaging characters, and an interesting plot line. It may not be high art, but it is damn entertaining.

Oddly positive review for a show that's widely-derided in its native land! And a B+ for a review focusing on season 1 (which is by far the worst, and a largely terrible mess.) The only real reason to watch Primeval is for the special effects (which may be blurry to save on rendering time/expense, but are otherwise pretty good, certainly for TV.) The acting, stories and mythology is generally pretty poor -- certainly they put more effort into the visuals than anything else.
