They at least tried to make sense. This movie was just like "Well lets see what we can fit in and get away with." If that's your thing, cool. As a whole the idea of Crank 2 is what makes it so good. Its not suppose to have plot or meaning. Sure I would rather watch a movie like Gladiator that contains both entertaining action and a well written story (in my eyes at least), but compared to the majority of action movies out (Transformers, GI Joe etc) Crank 2 is a far more enjoyable experience. The idea of this movie is to suspend belief for 95 minutes and just enjoy the humor and action that commences. As someone who enjoys movies with plot, I have to disagree with the review.
