Ok…… TDK…. Frost/Nixon….The Reader, they are all very good films. Bruno did a fabulous job on lite direction…… But and it’s a big but….TDK lacked the cohones, to really mount a successful bid for the golden dildo. I said that. In todays environment you must be prepared to take risks and make statements. The cassett company was acting like old Hollywood in the new millenium.

I saw 'The Reader'. I liked 'The Reader'. I think it deserves the spot more than 'Frost/Nixon' did. I think people should really watch the flicks before saying they're garbage. That's the problem with 'Best Picture' nominations. It tries to put apples and oranges in the same box.

'The Reader' is a much better melodrama than 'The Dark Knight'. 'The Dark Knight' is a better thriller/action flick than 'The Reader', but that doesn't win you an Oscar nom.

THe awards have been going to the unworthy for years. Granted a few who get recognized but for the most part..patooey!!! I agree..TDK should have won more than it did. Who the hell saw The Reader anyway??

The Dark Knight is overrated?? If thats the case, then so is the Godfather, Lord of the Rings series. Also, Schindlers List was booring, and Shakespeare in Love was a Snoozze fest. And why the F@#$ is The Curious Case of Benjamin 'CRAP' even nominated??? oh yeah, thats right. Because Bradgelina, who happens to be overrated and annoying, are loved by the media. Yet, nobody complains about that. F-U people. Maybe if Brad Pitt was in TDK, then there would have been no problem nominating it for best picture.

Screw the Oscars, I haven't watched them in over 10 years. They don't represent 90% of the Movie going audiance much as MTV isn't the authority on Music any longer.

Wait..who hasnt been boycotting the Oscar's every year? why would anyone spend a few hours of their life sitting down to watch rich actors/actress receiving an Oscar for doing something which they claim to love so much? is anyone's life really that sad?….

If I boycotted the Oscars every time a film or director I thought should have been nominated didn't then I would never watch them, but I love watching the Oscars with a friend or two while having a few drinks.

I'll do what I do every year – watch something else and just read the updates after the fact. Then I will get angry and disagree with their choices. Although this year, I'm not impressed with the field, so maybe I just take a nap.
