The best character in the Indiana Jones series is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the evil Nazi monkey trainer. Keepin’ monkeys out of the jungle with Shia since 1936.
May 29th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
young indy’s fat scout mate or the idiot soldier who got his head chopped off by the first test of the grail
May 29th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Shorty. No questions asked. Slick Shoes!
May 29th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
the creepy brainwashed child king from temple of doom. if i never have kids its definitely his fault for continuously haunting my dreams. Whenever I close my eyes, all I see is his face and I’m the doll he’s stabbing…..
May 29th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
The best character besides Indy? Marcus Brody. He just has the charm that only Denholm Elliot posessed. When he says, “Were I a few years younger, I’d be coming along with you,” I just feel like he was the ultimate badass, concealed underneath his British charm, of course. I feel like he was just like Indy when he was younger, and that makes him so damn cool.
Plus he’s sort of like the father figure that Indy never truly had (until Last Crusade).
May 29th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Sallah Mohammed Faisel el-Kahir, he is completely loyal, not only to Indy but to Marcus Brody, trying to help him escape Nazis, and his brother-in-law, making sure to grab him a few camels when he wrecks his car.
On top of this loyalty, the guy is virile, raising NINE children with his wife Fayah!
May 29th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Dr. Renee Belloq.
A hero is only as good as his villan and Belloq was quite a villan. Like a vulture, he let Indy do all the hard work before he swept in and took the prize. The face-to-face with Indy in Cairo after Indy thought Marion was dead is a classic scene, “I am but a shadowy reflection of you…”
My favorite Belloq moment is when he calls Indy’s bluff and dares him to blow up the Ark. He was the perfect villan for Indy and their rivalry is one of the things that sets the Raiders apart as the best film of the series.
May 29th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
The whip. It is a character unto itself.
May 29th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Hands down my favorite is Short Round from Temple of Doom.
Hold on, Lady, we going for a ride!!!
May 29th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I always liked the creepy nazi guy with the wire rimmed glasses from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Not only did he melt superbly, but he also creeped the Hell outta me as a kid.
May 29th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
My favorite was always Dr. Jones Sr. (Sean Connery). Not only did I love his devotion to
finding the Grail, but he was comedic, too. My favorite moment of his was when he used his
umbrella to scare the birds. Genius!
May 29th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
I’m gonna have to go with Lao Che. Although he was only in the film briefly, as a villain, he seemed deliciously evil. I always wanted to know more about his and Indy’s past. And even when it looked like Indy was about to get away he had one more trick up his sleeve. Besides, you get to meet him at Club Obi Wan!
May 29th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
I’m guessing I’m not eligible for this. I suppose I could quit working for FSR in order to win, right?
Oh, and quite obviously, the best Indy character besides Indy is Henchman #3. The one from Raiders, not the one from Temple.
May 29th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Oh, and why is that Steve Martin doll dressed up as Indiana Jones?
May 29th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
Thats a sweet prize pack. I need one of those foam whips, going to have to track that down. I second Marcus Brody as best supporting character.
May 29th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Sallah because in the world of Indy he hasn’t the luxury of many friends or I should say friends he can be sure won’t betray him. Sallah is the one you can always count on, he is there for Dr. Jones whenever he needs him, and is truly a great character whom I wish was featured more prominently in the Indy series. He is also in some of the best scenes in Raiders he saves Indy from being poisoned after seeing the dead monkey, and replies with a great line “bad dates”. Then at the end of Crusade after learning that Indy was named after the dog his expression and the line he says thats probably one of my favorite endings to a movie.
May 29th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Sallah becuse when you need transportation the always has camels.
May 29th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Easy: Sallah Mohammed Faisel el-Kahir
He picked the best movies to be in.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:56 am
I would have to go with Short Round. He stands out the most in that movie.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:20 am
For sure Short Round. Shorty stands out more than anyone in Temple of Doom.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Indy’s dad, hands down!
May 30th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Marian. She stands toe to toe with indy and comes out ahead. Only woman for him and he should know it.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:48 am
I like Short Round from the “Temple of Doom” movie. He provided great comic relief, and interacted with the other main characters well. His character didn’t seem to be out of place in the film either. Without his funny remarks the film wouldn’t have been whole.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:08 am
Marian of course…Indy is wise in all areas but women…he should know by now that Marian is his best mate ever.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:08 am
Good or bad, they’re all great characters but since I can choose only one, it’s Short Round.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:17 am
Love Indy ;-) Thanks.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Sallah by all means…”bad dates”
May 30th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Henry Jones Sr., Indy’s dad. How many people do you know that could bring down a bomber with an umbrella?
May 30th, 2008 at 11:07 am
Definitely Shorty.
May 30th, 2008 at 11:19 am
Short Round! No time for love, Dr. Jones!
May 30th, 2008 at 11:55 am
wow how cool i like to try and win this thanks
May 30th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Short round from Temple of Doom was one of my favorite characters. He was so funny and really added another comedic element to the film.
May 30th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Marcus Brody was a great sidekick for Jones. While bumbling at times he was a loyal friend to Jones throughout the movies.
May 30th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
My favourite character from Indiana Jones saga (apart from Indy) is Henry Jones Sr.
In spite of being (obviously) older than Indiana, he gets off with Dr. Elsa Schneider, this is enviable and makes you think if you could achieve the same at your sixties ;)
Secondly, he was the perfect companion for Indy and also quite funny, remember his repeated quote: “This is intolerable!” - which by the way is said in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull -.
And last but not least, he survives a shot thanks to the Holy Grail and should be supposedly immortal, although we’re told he is dead in this last movie.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
my favorite would have to be professor Henry Jones SR., I have always loved Sean Connery and to have him play Indiana’s father made this even better, they couldn’t have picked a better actor to top it off!
May 30th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Short Round. What a kid!!
May 30th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Short round… look out NASCAR!
May 30th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I like Henry Jones Sr. (Sean Connery) because he still brings the James Bond mystique into every role he plays.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Short Round cause I’m short and round.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
I love Indy’s dad….because??? Well he’s Sean Connery….
May 30th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
The little Chinese kid from Temple of Doom!
May 30th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
It’s a tough call between Short -Round and Henry Sr.
but I’ll go with Henry Sr.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Marian!
Thanks for the giveaway :)
May 30th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
my favorite was indy’s dad. just a great contrast between the two.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Marcus Brody I think would be my fav.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Marcus Brody was my favorite Indiana Jones character. He was an absent-minded nice father-like man. I thought him to be so believable.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Short Round from Temple of Doom
May 30th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Indiana Jone’s dad is the best…loved the interaction between father and son on that movie.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
My favorite Indiana Jones charcter would be Indiana Jones because he is the main character. I have never seen the movie before but I have seen all the commercials and they are so awesome!!! :)
May 30th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
mr. jones senior, sean connery is great
May 30th, 2008 at 7:58 pm

Sean Connery as Indy’s father was the bomb! Thank you for this giveaway!
May 30th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
my favorite character besides indy is sallah. i love the part in the first movie, where he says: “asps, very dangerous, you go first.” and in the third movie at the end where he says: “what’s this junior?” “you are named after the dog?” and laughs.
May 30th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Henry Jones senior
May 30th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

Henry Jones Senior. Because he was fully aware that he was a pimp throughout
the entire film.

Henry Jones Sr. because he is funny and yet an inspiration.
June 1st, 2008 at 1:58 pm
My favorite Indy character outside of Indy himself would be Sallah. He provides a good foil for Indy, and he is a very layered character. Sallah can be comic relief yet can be deadly serious when the case warrants. A film franchise or spin-off film could easily be built around Sallah and his own adventures.
June 1st, 2008 at 2:08 pm

My family and I just loved the new Indy film. Harrison Ford still has that Indy charm and the story line was thrilling.
However, My favorite character was his son Mutt. He was unafraid of danger and it was just like watching a young Indy. Shaia lebouf was great..
In all the film is a must for all ages…a thrillride from the start to the finish.

Short Round. He really brought some laughters to situations.
June 4th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Dr. Henry Jones–the only man that can put Indy in his place–and brings out a huge amount of humor!
June 4th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
If I absolutely have to pick someone other than Indy than it has to be his Dad. I suppose you can tell my age since my two favorites are Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.

Short Round - he’s amusing
June 4th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Marion Ravenwood; salty and solid.
June 4th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Sallah. The line: “Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.”
June 4th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
My favorite character from childhood is Short Round from Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom.
June 4th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
I really enjoyed Sean Connery as his father because he’s salty. He’s rough around the edges but he’s really an old softie.
June 4th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
I was really excited to see Karen Allen return as Marion Ravenwood in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. She has certainly aged well and Marion kept her spunk. I also liked Sean Connery as Indy’s Dad.
June 4th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Girl Power - Marian is my choice!
June 4th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Marion Ravenwood! She proves a woman can be tough, smart, over 50, and still be sexy!!!
June 4th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
It has to be Indy’s daddy. Sean Connery ate up Harrison Ford in every scene!!
June 4th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I really enjoyed Sean Connery
June 4th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Indy’s dad, Henry Sr.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Would be a great collection to put away for my granddaughter. The next action seris to Starwars.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Professor ‘Ox’ Oxley is my favorite character outside of Dr. Jones. Oxley like Jones is very intelligent and can defend himself well. I really like Oxley because he is so smart. This is a great giveaway and I really hope I win. Thanks.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Henry Sr. would have to be my favorite character he just reminds me so much of my own Dad.
June 4th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
I liked marian but of all the characters, Henry Sr. or indy’s father was my most favorite.
June 4th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
i saw the new one, and i love Mutt, mainly cuz he’s played by Shia LaBeouf, and he’s one sexy dude, and i love how obsessed with his hair he is! hahaha!
June 4th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
his dad
June 4th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
I loved Sean Connery as Indy’s dad
June 4th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Those pesky snakes guarding the Ark. They sure were scary !!!
June 4th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Henry Jones Senior
June 5th, 2008 at 12:14 am
Indy’s dad, just cause I like Sean Connery!
June 5th, 2008 at 1:30 am
Marian! She is a tough little lady and can drink most men under the table! And is able to keep up with Indy, usually.
June 5th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Henry Jones Senior. Sean Connery and Harrison Ford had such great chemistry as father and son (even though their real ages aren’t all that far apart).
June 5th, 2008 at 1:42 am
I always loved Marian, and am glad that she is still around.
June 5th, 2008 at 1:55 am
I have to go with Henry Sr,and the scene I like is when Indiana goes over the cliff and Henry Sr is thinking he is dead
June 5th, 2008 at 2:09 am
I would have to go with Short Round. His lines are memorable!
I keep telling you, you listen to me more, you live longer!
He no nuts, he’s crazy!
I’m very little! You cheat very big!
Hold on to your potatoes!
Thanks for a fun giveaway!
June 5th, 2008 at 2:15 am
I like Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) because…she just appeals to me. I hope that doesn’t sound shallow.
June 5th, 2008 at 2:39 am
I always liked Marian Ravenwood because she was always so bold. Karen Allen is a good actor and just plain cute.
June 5th, 2008 at 4:27 am
i liked Cate Blanchett playing Irina Spalko, because she could sure handle that sword, and i loved the accent
June 5th, 2008 at 4:29 am
Dr. Jones, senior - what a guy! handsome, funny and the perfect dad for Indy!
June 5th, 2008 at 6:38 am
My favorite character has to be Dr. Henry Jones.
June 5th, 2008 at 7:24 am
Indy’s dad
June 5th, 2008 at 8:20 am
dr jones sr
June 5th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Dr. Henry Jones is my favorite character. Sean Connery is such a fantastic actor, and I don’t think anyone could pull off playing Indy’s dad the way he did! Thank you so much for the contest!
June 5th, 2008 at 11:16 am
THE BIG GUY WITH THE SWORDS THAT INDY SHOOTS, THAT IS MY FAVORITE SCENE.
June 5th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Major Arnold Toht, evil nazi’s rule!
June 5th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
This is a tough one, because I love all the Indy movies, but I will choose the Flying Wing pilot from “Raiders” for very sentimental reasons. He’s played by producer Frank Marshall, and I got to hang out with him for a while at the WorldCon in Boston in 1989, and he’s a really cool guy. Every time I see that scene now, I say, “Hey, it’s my buddy Frank!” Even my mom recognizes him now.
By the way, to the person who wondered why Henry Jones Sr. died after drinking from the Grail, they say in the movie that the effects only last while you are in the Grail Temple.
June 5th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Definitely Indy!! He puts himself in danger to help others and doesn’t ever profit from any of it, you don’t find guys like that anymore ;)
June 5th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
My favorite was always Dr. Jones Sr. (Sean Connery).
June 5th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
I always liked Marion Ravenwood. She was spunky, sassy, tough, and she really gave Indy a run for his money.
June 5th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
It’s really hard to choose a favorite character. LOVE Marion, LOVE Dr. Jones, Sr., LOVE Sallah, but I have to say my favorite is Marcus Brody. A great combination of class, ineptitude, and wit. So great!
June 5th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
I like Indy’s father, he cracks me up.
June 5th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Short Round!!!! He was the best!!
June 5th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
i haven’t yet seen the new film so i don’t know. but i am a huge HUGE indiana jones fan. i am sure i will love all the characters (i always do).
June 5th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Evil Nazi Monkey trainer
June 5th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Marian — my kind of woman for sure (and I’m gay, so that’s saying a lot!)
June 5th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
It has to be Marion.
June 5th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
This is so hard! Sallah, fabulous. Indy’s dad, super. But it must be Marian, she is the ultimate everything.
June 5th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
I like his dad. Sean still has it.
June 5th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
I loved Dr Jones Senior ( Henery) I though he and Indiana had great chemistry as father and son
June 5th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Dr. Jones Sr., because he was funny.
June 5th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
Dr. Jones Sr. for me as well as a Scottish accent is so hot.
June 5th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Mutt Jones because he is a motorcycle riding greaser and Indy’s son and sidekick.
June 5th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Indy’s dad…sean is a great actor
June 5th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
Marian-the original strong woman
June 6th, 2008 at 1:38 am
My favorite Indy character is the nazi that beats the living crap out of indy and out of karma get mutalated by the extreme force and speed of tthe spinning propeler of an idleing unchualked plane. Which i thought was a very poetic justice?
June 6th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
The Ultimate Indiana Jones Prize Pack should be getting the money back that you wasted seeing this horrible movie.
June 10th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Aside from Indy of course, I really liked Mutt Williams, who turned out to be Indy’s son, played by Shia LaBeouf. I didn’t think I would like Shia in the role, but he did great.
June 14th, 2008 at 10:56 am
I liked Short Round. Great comic relief and loved the interaction between him and Indy.
Sweet prize pack!
June 14th, 2008 at 11:39 am
My favorite character in the trilogy besides Indiana Jones himself would have to be Marcus Brody. Not only is he hilariously inept, but he also always believes in what Indy is doing and goes along for the ride, even if he gets kidnapped by Nazis and stuck in a tank.
June 18th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
My favorite would be short round!
July 4th, 2008 at 11:23 am
My favorite was Short Round! This movie needed some comedy and he provided it.
July 4th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
SHORT ROUND he is the 1
July 4th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
dr Jones dad is my favorite out of the characters in the movie, but i think the movie is great !
July 6th, 2008 at 10:54 am
I have to go with Short Round
July 6th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Shorty was likable, funny, and victimized - everything we like about IJ characters.
July 6th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Definitely Indy’s dad. He pretty much rules.
July 17th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Shorty is definently my favorite Indy character other than the doctor himself. Everyone hates Temple of Doom, but in my mind, he made it (almost) work. But myabe that was because I was his age when I first saw it, and I could relate. Nostalgia and all that.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:17 am
The fedora is a character we can’t do without!
July 30th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
You can never go wrong with Mr. Sean Connery. Seriously, who else can bring down an airplane with just an umbrella? He is not only a huge badass, but also has one of the coolest voices ever.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:03 am
I’m going to have to go with the Shortround. “Haha very funny” Favorite part of temple of doom
August 10th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
WHY ISNT HE IN A OLD FOLK HOME????
September 1st, 2008 at 8:40 pm
I like Short Round from the “Temple of Doom” movie. He was perfectly suited and made the movie whole.
