I'd agree with the disaster. Just not the comments. I think the film was awful. The reason it made money is because of all the Christians who thought that since Mel Gibson was in it they owed him a movie ticket. SO it made money, but I bet you won't see Apocalypto 2. If you do it won't break 4 million

Oops, someone hasn't heard about Wynonna's newest misplaced items. Seems she borrowed a lot of jewelry for an event and claims she returned them to the Hotel Security. Problem is they never recieved it and the video survailence evidence supports their claim that Ryder never came to the front desk for anything.

Robert Downey, Jr. definitely had the best "comeback." He was always a good actor, but Iron Man brought him to the A- list. NPH rules too.

You think "Apocalypto" was a disaster? It cost $40 million to make, was filmed entirely in Mayan, and made $120 million worldwide and was nominated for three Oscars.

Just what, exactly, was disastrous about it?

Not to stand up for Brian, but I think he was refering to the drunk driving rant as a disaster and not the movie which was Gibson's last since the anti-semetic inebriation.

But still, Winona Ryder has had a better comeback from the shoplifting than you let on, Brian. I guess her role in A Scanner Darkly doesn't matter but RDJ's does?

RDJs role in A Scanner Darkly wouldn't matter either if that was one his only roles in the past couple years. He had a comeback trail, Ryder just had a mugshot and small indie roles once every 2 or 3 years.

I liked Apocalypto, and when I said "Gibson has not starred in or directed a film since Apocalypto, which was released the same year. He will though, but he is likely on a hiatus because of this disaster", I meant that the disaster was his racism...not the film.

Oh, and I take your statement, "Try soliciting a transvestite prostitute as Eddie Murphy did just two years later," as a challenge. I'll let you know how it works out. Be by your phone with bail money just in case.
