TV for Movie Lovers

In the two-hour 24 television event which premiered last night, we find Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) in Africa having a Dave Chappelle-esque search for inner-peace (and also hiding from a U.S. government subpoena).

The gang returns home to New York City, but Hollywood seems to follow. Vince’s mom tells him and Eric that Gus Van Sant is in town and in need of a replacement for Joaquin Phoenix due to an injury.

The season comes to a close, but not before wrapping up several major storylines. Jason sits in jail for crimes he didn’t commit while the the real killer sets his sights on Sookie. Tara finds her luck changed for the better at the hands of a mysterious benefactor who has unexplained ties to Sam, who has more than his share of secrets.

On a two-week leave, Rodney (David Hewlett) invites Dr. Keller (Jewel Staite) back to Earth to attend a scientific presentation by one of his rivals, Malcolm Tunney (Dave Foley)

Toby (Paul Lieberstein) is back and not everybody is thrilled by it, especially Michael (Steve Carell).

In the season finale, Charlie writes a musical for the gang to act in, inspired by his fictional folk-song superbeing, “Dayman.”

Mike must infiltrate a group of thieves intending to rob millions of dollars from a Las Vegas casino. KITT saves the day using his super-advanced, “wow me” futuristic, “aw naw that is just too awesome”… headlights. HEADLIGHTS!!

In need of cash to fund Bobby’s defense, Clay’s solution leaves Samcro in a vulnerable position. What’s supposed to be a happy homecoming for Abel ends in more turmoil for the club.

Nate’s father takes one step too far, prompting Chuck and Vanessa to work together once more to rescue Nate from his own family.

Hiro (Masi Oka) gets his mind wiped … sort of. Elle (Kristen Bell) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) have a reunion, and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) tries to keep Claire (Hayden Panettiere) innocent.

It’s no surprise to anyone reading this that I have been awfully critical of this show in season two. However, once we got past the nightmare elements, this episode shaped up rather nicely.

Hank spends the day at the home of Janie Jones trying to get the back story on her relationship with Lew Ashby. When Janie’s husband comes home early, Hank is forced to bide his time in the pool house with the Jones family maid, Rosario.

Bill fulfills the sentence handed down to him by the Vampire hierarchy, creating a new challenge for himself to the tune of a rebellious new vampire. Elsewhere, Sookie seeks comfort and protection in the arms of shape-shifter Sam while the killer strikes again, dumping Jason Stackhouse right back into hot water.

Miguel brings Dexter another “project,” but this time he wants to get his hands dirty. Dexter realizes it’s time to teach Miguel the Code – for his own safety as well as Miguel’s.

Vince takes Verner’s criticisms from last week to heart, but the director ends up firing Vince on the spot.

While trying to hit on a pretty astrobiologist, Sheppard is taken hostage by the Genii leader Koyla, whom he had killed two years ago. Meanwhile, back on Atlantis, Woolsey faces a member of the IOA who wants him removed, and Rodney and Zelenka discover a mysterious device on the ocean floor.

Michael and a few members of the Scranton branch are sent to Winnipeg on a business trip and Jim notices the intrusive behavior of his fellow employees leading up to Pam’s return.

Mike, Kitt, and Sarah must stop a pair of young eco-terrorists from I Wanna Rock and Roll All Knight are you kidding me?! I mean, really, are you just trying to be assholes, Knight Rider writers?!

When one SOA member is arrested for murder and another goes missing, Jax must choose between friendship and the club. Meanwhile, Abel grows stronger and is soon to be released from the NICU, but he’s not the only one coming home.

Serena’s relationship with Aaron continues forward, despite multiple hiccups, while Jenny’s relationships and her business plan fall apart around her.

In the grand style of Vantage Point, The Sarah Connor Chronicles tells this episode’s story from multiple points of view. John (Thomas Dekker) runs off for the weekend with Riley (Leven Rambin) and ends up in a Mexican jail.

Hiro’s spirit walk takes him back in time one year, to the events surrounding the “death” of Arthur Pertrelli (Robert Forster).

Hank and Karen attend a parent-teacher conference at Becca’s high school. Hank hits it off with the English teacher, Mrs. Patterson, only to discover that this latest possible conquest is also the mother of Becca’s boyfriend Damien.

Chuck’s former flame shows up in the form of Jordana Brewster, who brings with her a crazy biochemical weapon to town, forcing Chuck to fight both old feelings and terrorism at the same time.

Miguel offers Dexter a new potential victim, but after properly vetting her, Dexter isn’t sure she fits the Code. When he informs Miguel of this, he reacts with anger, making Dexter believe the new friendship is in danger.

Vince gets humiliated on the set of Smokejumpers with a shrinking number of lines and a passive-aggressive director. Eric gets humiliated by Seth Green while trying to close a deal for another client.

The relationship between Sam Merlotte and that damn dog is finally revealed. Elsewhere, Bill must answer to the vampire hierarchy over his bloody defense of Sookie, who finds herself in a place where trusting anyone is difficult.

In this episode, we see Michael at his most desperate, and his most vulnerable. He’s still bent on revenge against the Atlantis team for making him what he is, and he is still reaching out to Teyla, secretly hoping that she would join him.

In order to get their bar put on a historical tour of Philly, Mac, Dennis, and Charlie make up a story about how they cracked the Liberty Bell in 1776.

Dwight and Jim are shocked when they get the results of the annual customer survey report. Pam and Jim decide they want to spend every minute together using their bluetooth phones.
