SxSW 2010: Porn Stars, Allen Iverson, and Outerspace

By  · Published on January 4th, 2010

We never check our physical mail here at Reject HQ because of some dramatics that went down between me and the Columbia Music Club, so it makes sense that we missed a little piece of news still stuck in our mailbox about SxSW and their line up for this year.

Luckily, Cinematical has picked up the slack and is reporting that three films have already been announced.

You’ve heard us gush about Women in Trouble since we got to see it at SxSW last year, and the sequel Elektra Luxx (with Carla Gugino as the titular character) will make a scantily-clad appearance. The Sebastian Gutierrez-directed flick will no doubt consist of more over-the-top, yet somehow completely grounded emotional turmoil facing the pornstar-cum-mother that we fell in love with last year.

On the basketball side of things, the documentary No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson will play the fest – exploring the racial tensions of a community in Virginia by focusing on a fight that future Basketball superstar and brand new 76er (again) Allen Iverson was involved with back in his youth. The film looks at the personal and the communal effects of the public debacle.

And finally, audiences will be invited to head into space with Hubble 3D, so if you’re interested in swirling around the galaxies in three dimensions, be sure to head to Austin on March 12th and be prepared to stay well through April while you recover from your hangover.

If you can’t wait that long, if you’re crawling in your seat trying to get SxSW coverage, cover the phrase “2009” on all of last year’s coverage.

What do you think?
