The folks at Paramount Pictures have revealed to the world, with the help of Yahoo and USA Today, the list of robots that will be featured in Michael Bay’s upcoming sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

It’s an obvious connection, but if we’re about to learn anything from these first photos from Thomas Jane’s directorial debut Dark Country, it is that its going to be a very dark film. It is also going to be on the forefront of filmmakers doing new and cool things with 3D.

I don’t know how to make this story not sound at least a little dirty, despite the fact that it’s all about a damn kids movie.

Sometimes posters can be oh so wrong. They can be boring and flat and either blend into the background of the local movie theater or worse, turn people off seeing the movie. Of course, for every negative, there’s a positive. We’ll leave you to decide where these fall.

If there is one thing that makes me sad it is a good filmmaker — in this case John Hillcoat, director of The Proposition — who has a great piece of material that they’ve turned into a potentially great film — in this case Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” — and it just sits on the shelf, collecting dust.

One of the more anticipated films due out next year is Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. And as Wright gets deeper into production, we’ve begun to learn some interesting things about his next film.
