WB has released the second of twelve video journals from the set of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. This time, we get a look at what it’s like to make costumes for a film that takes place over 50 years.

The first Crank film was on all-out assault on the senses, delivering action, sex and a level of badass that can only be delivered by the crazy minds of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. And now, with Crank 2, it appears that these two visionaries are doing what they can to raise the bar.

We tried to show you all that was cool about The Spirit last week, but Lionsgate made us take it all down. This week, we see the film as they want us to see it, leaving us far less interested than before.

I stopped back into the ole’ blogging office this afternoon and noticed that every website under the sun is shilling this new photo of Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan from the upcoming crime drama Eagle Eye. Then I realized that I had seen this image before, in my email inbox, in much higher resolution.

Haven’t we had enough of Jane Austen? Apparently not, according to Screen Gems. That’s right. They’re not just re-making bad slasher films from the 80s. They’re also remaking stuffy British literature as musical urban street dramas.

Yesterday we showed you some advertising art from Frank Miller’s The Spirit — and it was awesome. Today, we have photos from the set with Sam Jackson looking badass — which is an even bigger dose of awesome!

All signs are pointing to an early start for the highly anticipated sequel, and we couldn’t be happier to hear it. And today, thanks to a tip from our friends at IESB, we’ve got some potential casting news and an alleged robot line-up!

Transformers 2 is shooting in Sedona, Arizona… otherwise known as the land of crystal healing, UFOs, and it’s a New Age mecca. Oh, and they have some pretty awesome scenery, to boot.

Our friends over at The Bad and Ugly have scored a first look at Matt Damon in another Paul Greengrass movie, which will hopefully have more steady camera work. The film is called Green Zone and it tells the story of a pair of CIA agents on the trail of certain Weapons of Mass Destruction and a foreign correspondent following their mission.

Earlier this week, we scored a look at Barricade on the move in Culver City. Today, our friends over at Superhero Hype got a tip that Optimus Prime himself was rolling down the 405 on a flatbead truck. This further supports our suspicion that Michael Bay is mobilizing the production of the big, badass (and dare we say, Awesome!) Transformers sequel.

Fox Atomic has acquired the novel “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List” and will develop it as a vehicle for the “Heroes” starlet, who is also currently working on Atomic’s I Love You Beth Cooper with director Chris Columbus.

The early trailers featured the infectious jam “Paper Planes”, the theme song is being composed by the legendary Huey Lewis and now we learn that Bone Thugs, Shaquille O’Neal and other 80s favs will be on the Pineapple Express soundtrack. This is amazing!

Reports are coming in today that James Bond alum and uber-lothario Sir Sean Connery might be returning to the Bond franchise after a long hiatus to join the cast of Quantum of Solace. Instantly, I am drawn to thinking that this is probably a good idea.

A set of photos sent over by a friend this afternoon might lead you to believe that the filming of Transformers 2 is getting close to being underway. The pictures were snapped from a camera phone in Culver City, and they are clearly Saleen Mustangs with the Decepticon logo on the side.

While the Fast and the Furious franchise is preparing to give birth to number 4, one sneaky car enthusiast has been busy playing secret squirrel and has managed to snap a bunch of photos of the hot new cars which are to be featured in the 2009 film.

The following pictures, which come to us from a spy on set, aren’t helping me get any more excited about the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek film, but it may help Trekkies get their Vulcan ears all a-twitch.

In exploring the newly updated 2008 Summer preview from the Weinstein Company (which makes no mention of Fanboys, by the way), I stumbled upon the late-summer release Crossing Over, which stars Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd.

You have to love the Saw movies, if not for their ridiculously ambiguous nature. In a release from Lionsgate announcing that “Dexter” and Rambo hottie Julie Benz will star in the upcoming fifth installment, her character was described only as “an elegant woman”.

I know that we have been bombarding you with all kinds of rumors and speculation about a possible Anchoman sequel, but don’t let that divert your attention away from an equally exciting Will Ferrell project, the currently in production Land of the Lost adaptation.
