We begin this little news alert with a warning: if you have not seen the end of the second season of "Heroes," then you will not want to go much further.

We begin this little news alert with a warning: if you have not seen the end of the second season of “Heroes,” then you will not want to go much further. A few of the deleted scenes from the Season 2 DVD release have hit the always interesting halls of the interwebs, and as fans of the series, we are happy to bring them to you below.

The first is the alternate ending that was supposed to happen, but was cut due to the writer’s strike earlier this year. It shows the release of the Shanti virus, and hints toward a much bigger storyline that would have involved the principal characters having to not only keep tabs on the evil among them, including Silar, but also deal with the pandemic of the virus.

Personally, I am a fan of the way that Volume Two of “Heroes” did end, as it sets up well for a completely new storyline that will be the heart of the upcoming season. As well, I am extremely anxious to see how the “Villains” volume comes out, with certain characters walking the line between good and evil. The more Doomsday-esque scenario involving the virus would have been fun, but would have ultimately united most of the characters in a fight to go back and stop Adam Monroe from releasing the virus. Not to say that the “Heroes” writing team is unable to make this work, but it seems that the strike forced them to go another, more preferable direction. At least as far as I am concerned.

The second clip that has made its way online is another deleted scene from the episode “Four Months Ago,” which sheds a little more light on how Nathan lost his family:

Thanks to the folks at i09 for alerting us of these clips. We will continue to scour the internet and chase back-alley sources for more great info on “Heroes” as our triumphant run toward the start of the Fall TV season continues.
