It seems that yet another day has gone by, and while it feels as if we covered a ton of fun movie news, there are still a few stories out there that seem to have eluded us. But we can’t let that stop us, can we? You demand better and we are here to give it to you… We hope.

With that in mind, here are some of the stories that we missed over the last 24 hours:

MTV Movies Blog gave us a look at a brand new look (right) at Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, which is currently caught up in post-production limbo. The last rumors say that it was a little too scary and the studio is demanding reshoots. Everyone involved is keeping quite, though, so we can’t say for sure. Either way, we are still excited. [MTV Movies Blog]

The Toronto Sun talked to Jumper star Hayden Christensen earlier this week as he did some promotion for the film’s DVD release (in stores now). When they asked him about possible sequels, his response was encouraging (for those who liked the movie): “I know that they’re having those conversations, I hear about them.” When asked if he would sign again, Christensen said “I think I probably will.” Hmm… Making out with Rachel Bilson and hanging out with Samuel L. Jackson — I think I’d go for that as well. [Toronto Sun]

There are rumors going around that Raiders of the Lost Arc, Empire Strikes Back and Dreamcatcher — wow, if that isn’t a game of which one of these things doesn’t belong, I don’t know what is – scribe Lawrence Kasdan has been brought on to work on the new Robotech movie currently being developed by Tobey MaGuire’s company. It’s all rumors at this point, but Kasdan’s involvement could mean that the project, long thought to be just a pipe dream, is getting serious. [CHUD]

Longtime comic writer Warren Ellis seems to be next in the line of authors to have a bunch of their material transposed into potential blockbuster form. His book Red, about a former black-ops CIA agent who is forced out of retirement to stop his own assassination was optioned by Summit Entertainment and is being developed by uber-producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (GI Joe, Transformers). Also, Warner Bros. has optioned his book Ocean, an intergalactic tale of all sorts of oddities. [Slashfilm]

Starz is currently doing some reverse psychology promotion for the upcoming cable debut of I Know Who Killed Me, which stars Lindsay Lohan as a stripper who doesn’t get naked. They are actively flaunting the film’s eight Razzie Award wins, including a two-for-two shot by Lindsay Lohan for Worst Actress. They are also featuring some very fun quotes from critics. [Collider]

Casting has begun for the film How to Make Love to a Woman, in which Jenna Jameson plays herself, a pornstar that must teach a man to please his girlfriend. Josh Meyers will play the man, Ian Somerhalder will play his girlfriend’s hunky childhood friend, and hottie Krysten Ritter will play the girlfriend. If anything, this gives us a reason to pay more attention to Krysten Ritter. [THR]

Talks have already begun about bringing the creepy hooded people back for a sequel to The Strangers, which found success earlier this summer despite being wedged in between a bunch of big blockbusters. Other than just talks, no plans have been made just yet. [Bloody Disgusting]

Our friends over at First Showing have gotten their hands on the script for the upcoming Harold Ramis directed, Judd Apatow produced comedy Year One. In the review, they claim that “Biblical blasphemy has never been this fun.” It is obvious that they have never seen Mel Brooks’ The History of the World: Part I or Monty Python’s The Life of Brian. Then again, you just never know… [First Showing]

Actress Amanda Peet has signed on to join John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton and Danny Glover in Roland Emmerich’s big-budget futuristic-ish doomsday flick 2012. The film will also star Oliver Platt, who seems to show up in every epic apocalyptic doomsday film. [IGN]

And finally, congratulations to our good friends over at Slashfilm, who were included in Vanity Fair’s very cool Blogopticon. While we have no idea what this damn thing means and we don’t anticipate being able to decipher it anytime soon (too much alchohol in our future), we are proud of the company that our dear friends are in. Among them are Ain’t It Cool News, Cinematical, Defamer, Perez Hilton and my favorite — What Would Tyler Durden Do? [Vanity Fair]

Strangers, Outlanders, Robots discovering magnets and even some silliness with Batman fighting Sub-Zero. News happened today and we intend to be lazy in our coverage. That is why we bring you the Daily Grind.

Today was a relatively busy day here at FSR, so you can imagine what it was like out in the rest of the world. Or at least, the world wide web. Plenty of other news, news about which we were too lazy to write, happened and we are still intent on bringing it to you in a little feature we like to call The Daily Grind.

Outlander Gets a Teaser Poster [JoBlo]
No idea whatsoever what this movie is all about. It looks like 300 meets Pathfinder. Probably not the best combination. The lack of Gerard Butler is also a turnoff.

Wall-E Takes on a Magnet [Slashfilm]
Why does this movie instantly turn me into a giggling 8-year old boy?

Disney Spawns a Nature Studio: Wholesome IMAX Fun [Collider]
Hopefully they will keep with the long-standing Disney tradition of inserting lewd sexual imagery into these flicks as well.

Tribeca Hopes to Not Suck This Year [Yahoo]
They admit that last year was an off-year. Sam Raimi is not invited this time around. Spider-Man 3 just didn’t set the right tone for a respectable fest. This year’s opener: Speed Racer.

Paramount, MGM, Lionsgate create VOD Channel [ComingSoon]
Star Trek, Tyler Perry and The Blair Witch all coming to a <del datetime="2008-04-22T05:33:17+00:00">theater</del> television near you very soon.

Louis Leterrier Speaks of No Drama in Hulk Editing Room [Sci Fi Wire]
As if we really care…

Wolfgang Peterson No Longer Directing Ender’s Game [io9]
Thank heaven for io9… Otherwise we would never cover these types of sci-fi flicks. Not because we don’t like them, we just don’t understand them sometimes.

The Big Summer Movie Trailer [Empire]
One big movie trailer for all of the summer movies, produced by the Brits. My thoughts: Not enough Iron Man.

New Poster for The Strangers [ShockTillYouDrop]
Quick, turn around! They are behind you…

And finally, how about a trailer for the upcoming Mortal Combat vs. DC Universe video game. Not movie related, we know, but it is sweet nonetheless:

Of course we miss a lot of news on Friday, we are too busy writing movie reviews and drinking games. Well, at least Mr. Kevin Carr is too busy devising ways to get you drunk while you take in a weekend’s worth of films. Either way, we know that there is some news that we missed in the last 24 hours, so we would like to share it with you today, via our friends around the web-o-sphere…

Sony Picks up Battle: Los Angeles [FirstShowing.net]
At first glance, I wanted this to be “Bloods v. Cripps: The Revival”, but alas it is the story of a Marine platoon that must fight off an alien invasion in L.A. This one gets a half-yawn and a half-raised eyebrow of intrigue.

Meg is a movie about a HUGE Shark [LA Times]
Rumors come back to life, much like a huge-ass shark that eats people. Think Jaws meets… umm, Godzilla.

James Cameron talks Avatar, 3-D, Science and the Future of Humanity [Variety]
We really wanted to do a full article about this one, but we got confused about 1/2 way through — Jim Cameron is out there, man. Really out there. Avatar looks sweet, though.

Indiana Jones in MAD Magazine [Slashfilm]
Pete at Slashfilm, purveyor of all things cool, hands us this little gem. We wish we had time to hunt down cool stuff like this and write about it, but we prefer to just read Slashfilm instead.

Gisele Bündchen could be the 4th Austin Powers Girl [The Boston Globe]
Really? This is being reported as if it is significant, like a Bond girl or something. Oh, okay.. We get the pun. Not funny.

Colin Chou is not a Ninja Assassin [Collider]
He does, however, know kung fu.

More Speed Racer Photos, Images, Cartoonyism [Collider]
Read the title, friendo. More Emile Hirsch to satisfy your weird fantasies.

Alright kids, that’s what we have for you today. Check out the stories above on all of our little-sister sites. And be sure to have a damn fine weekend. Back to the grind on Monday.

As I explained yesterday, there seems to be a lot of news that we miss on a daily basis. Therefore, we have put together this nightly feature known as The Daily Grind: your #1 source for all the news stories that we are too lazy to write about. As well, this gives us a good opportunity to copiously link to all of our friends around the web-o-sphere. And away we go…

50 Cent has some future Regret [Variety]
‘Spectacular Regret’ should be the title of 50 Cent’s acting autobiography, not his next film.

Tobey Maguire Wants to Marry Everyone [Variety]
Spider-Man and WB are teaming up to make a movie called Marry Him! THe Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough. Seriously? What is with that title…? Sounds like something out of my future…

Now Jake Gyllenhaal is the Prince of Persia [Latino Review]
Yesterday we debunked the rumor that Orlando Bloom was going to be paid $40 million to play around in the Sands of Time as the Prince of Persia. Today, our hombres at Latino Review have another theory scoop: Jake Gyllenhaal. While we await the official announcement, we would encourage you to at least hear them out.

Errol Morris Ends Everything [Cinematical]
Documentarian and Apple Store hobo Errol Morris is planning to make a comedy, set in Hawaii that will tackle a wide range of subjects: “…a wingless bird, author Margaret Mitchell, a volcano, and Laura Bush.” Funny, we were just thinking about making a movie just like that…

Kevin Munroe to Adapt Dylan Dog, taps Brandon Routh to Star [Slashfilm]
As if you haven’t had enough comic book adaptations yet…

Casting for Oli Stone’s W Can Be Hard to Follow [FirstShowing]
Thankfully, Kevin Powers over at FirstShowing has put together this handy visual guide, for all of you who don’t like to “read the articles.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is ‘All Good’ [THR]
After we see him as The Comedian in Watchmen, it won’t matter what Jeffrey Dean Morgan does next, as he is going to rock our worlds. But, just in case you were wondering, he will be joining Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling in All Good Things.

That’s what we’ve got for you today. Until tomorrow, keep an eye on your sidewalks, dog poop is on the rise.

If you are a consistent reader of this site (and we certainly hope that you are) then you already know that we don’t post 30 news articles everyday. If we are lucky, sometimes we lay down 15-20, but we never get around to covering everything that happens around the ole’ movie web. With that in mind, we would like to introduce our new daily feature, The Daily Grind. Here, we will throw you some links that can be both useful and informative, along with little snippets of commentary that will hopefully make you giggle.

And away we go…

Kanye West is Now a Movie Journalist [KanyeUniverseCity]
It appears that Kanyizy has taken to photo journalism this week, snapping some photos during a visit to the Jim Henson Creature Shop. Along with some of the goofy puppets from his upcoming tour (which is rumored to have a big dragon or something), Kanye caught what looked to be a character from Spike Jonze’s film Where the Wild Things Are (seen to the right). Good going Kanye, its good to know that you could always fall back on Movie Blog Spy Reporter if that rapping thing doesn’t work out.

A Hellboy 2 Viral Site? [ShockTillYouDrop]
While most of us are in the process of deciding whether or not we’ve had enough viral marketing this year thanks to The Dark Knight, the folks at Universal have already decided in our honor that we have not, in fact, had enough. They have launched some viral stuff for the upcoming Hellboy sequel, which is probably going to just confuse people either way, so I don’t see the point.

Trick ‘R Treat Goes into Distribution Limbo [Slashfilm]
Just when you thought a major studio was going to release a good horror movie that is in English (Ahem, The Orphanage was in Spanish), Warner Brothers swoops in and slams the door shut on the buzz-heavy Halloween flick from writer/director Michael Dougherty, taking it off their 2008 slate. Oh well, there is always Halloween 2009…

Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana 3-D Concert Goes Blu-ray [High Def Digest]
I won’t even say it… You perves.

Michelle Rodriguez talks Avatar [Cinematical]
Ms. Rodriguez loosens her house arrest anklet and talks a little bit about how “sick” of a director James Cameron as. As if we didn’t know that already — he made a movie where the majority of people die horrible deaths in the middle of the freezing Atlantic Ocean.

UA / MGM Push Back Valkyrie [Variety]
Ok Tom Cruise, we get it, you are Xenu’s gift to mankind. But when your own company is pushing back your movie, it might be time for a long look in the mirror.

Repo! The Genetic Opera gets its own Website [ShockTillYouDrop]
Might we remind you that this is the movie where Paris Hilton may or may not have her organs removed on screen? Start lining up now…

Toni Collette Signs on for Upcoming Sam Mendes Flick [THR]
Collette joins “The Office” star John Krasinski and “SNL” starlet Maya Rudolph in an upcoming romantic comedy from Sam Mendes. And you wonder why we didn’t dedicate an entire post to this one… Snore.

That is all we have for today, kiddies… Until tomorrow, stay clean.
