One of the great things about Pixar DVDs is that they always include an additional short film that is somehow related to main film. And with WALL-E, Andrew Stanton enlisted directing animator Angus MacLane — who, in my opinion is going to be the next big Pixar director — to direct BURN-E, a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern-esque side story about a little repair robot whose world is also impacted by WALL-E and EVE. As you will see, we do meet BURN-E very briefly in the actual film but we never get to see his entire story. This short film gives us a hilarious look at what happens to him. It has made its way online courtesy of Videolog.tv. Check it out below.

WALL-E hits DVD and Blu-ray on November 18th.

The folks over at Disney were nice enough to send over a few images of Pixar’s next little robot superstars, BURN-E. This little guy is featured in his own little short film that is attached to the WALL-E DVD which is set to be released on November 18th. It is a really cute added bonus, continuing with the theme of personable, non-talking robots. Have a look at BURN-E below (click to enlarge).

Thankfully, there is little time left before WALL-E will be unleashed upon the masses, ready to knock the world on its collective ass with curiosity, cuteness and creativity. But it won't hurt to have one more look...

Over the next few hours, both myself and Kevin Carr will weigh in with our reviews of the latest Pixar film WALL-E, which hits theaters at Midnight tonight — and if there is one thing I can say with absolute certainty, both reviews will surely be glowing endorsements of the little guy. We have known for a while that he is a cute little robot, but it was nearly impossible to quantify the amount of personality that he would have when he finally hit the big screen. Thankfully, there is little time left before WALL-E will be unleashed upon the masses, ready to knock the world on its collective ass with curiosity, cuteness and creativity.

With that in mind, we have one final featurette to share with you, one that comes to us from our friends over at First Showing. It goes behind the scenes with director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) and gives you a pretty thorough look at the world and story behind WALL-E. Enjoy:

The fine people over at IGN have unleashed this evening, a cinematic spectacle the likes of which the world has not seen. It is shocking, pulse-pounding action on a scale that will blow your mind… and it’s damn cute, too. It is the third full-length trailer for the upcoming Pixar film WALL-E, and it is just a mouse click from unleashing its fury all over you. Have a look for yourself below.

[See post to watch Flash video]

Normally this is where we insert some lines of witty commentary that is intended to somehow sway your opinion one way or the other on a film, but I have none of that — we all know that WALL-E is going to be awesome. No sense in beating the dead donkey.

WALL-E was directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo). It features the voice and live action talents of Ben Burtt, Jeff Garlin, Kathy Najimy, John Ratzenberger, Sigourney Weaver and Fred Willard. It will be in theaters on June 27th.

Also, six new WALL-E videos have popped up over at MovieWeb. Check them out.

Little known fact about Pixar's upcoming film Wall-E: 7-time Academy Award nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins was brought in as a special visual consultant. How cool is that?

The calls have begun to come in from the West Coast — WALL-E is about to be a star. And though I dare not repeat the details that I’ve heard from the first screenings of the new Pixar film, as it is better to let those eager (and lucky) journos give you the first hand accounts on their own sites, I will say that I am extremely jealous that they have seen the film and I absolutely can’t wait to see it myself.

If you aren’t familiar with WALL-E, he is the cute-as-hell little robot at the heart of Pixar’s next big adventure. And after hundreds of lonely years doing what he was built for, which is picking up trash on a long deserted planet earth, Wall-E finally discovers that there is more to life than just being a lonely robot. If you haven’t seen the trailer for this one, I would recommend watching it first, then checking out the featurette below, which shows how Academy Award nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins (The Assassination of Jesse James, No Country for Old Men) was brought in to help Pixar animators capture a real life feel for the way WALL-E is presented. It is an incredible interesting little feature, one that shows us that WALL-E is certainly going to be “something different.”

Watch the WALL-E “Pixar Goes Space Age” featurette:

[See post to watch Flash video]

Official Synopsis: After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.

As far as movies go this summer, despite all of the great superheroes who will grace the big screen, I am beginning to see that WALL-E is the character who will most make everyone feel like a kid again. It reminds me a lot of seeing Short Circuit, which I recently had the chance to revisit — it all just brings me back to a time when a cute robot with a personality would instantly transform me into a wide-eyed munchkin who was all imagination. It should be a lot of fun, to say the least.

It appears that today may be a slow-ish news day as the movie world prepares to unleash The Incredible Hulk tomorrow, but that won’t stop the marketers at Disney/Pixar from reminding us that one of the summer’s most powerful characters will be coming in the form of a curious little robot — and he’s only two weeks away.

His name is Wall-E and his movie hits theaters June 27. Below you will find four cute new posters featuring that soon to be world famous curiosity, all courtesy of the fine folks at Empire Online.

Nothing like a cute little robot to get your weekend started, right? For those of you who missed it earlier this week, footage has been released of a real-life, animatronic Wall-E that has been spotted on the streets of Los Angeles. Apparently the folks at Disney / Pixar have been working on a little real robot guy who could be roaming around Disney theme parks in the near future.

That’s it… Disney Land here I come. And yes, I am going to steal one.

Time to admit to yourself that Wall-E is cute and that you are going to love him...

I will admit that I’ve been beating up on this little guy, but there is a place inside me somewhere that is warming to the concept of Wall-E with every new clip, pic and trailer. If the non-talking little robot lacks anything, it is certainly not charisma. This evening Disney and Pixar have released a brand new, full-length trailer for the film. Lets watch it together, see how this plays out.

[See post to watch Flash video]

See the Wall-E trailer in High Definition on Apple.com

Now that you’ve watched it, and if you are like me then you had to watch it twice, you will probably agree with me that this movie looks absolutely FANTASTIC! At first I didn’t understand why you would want to watch a movie where the main character doesn’t speak, but now that I can see how much life the magicians at Pixar have been able to breath into the little guy, I am implicitly sold on this concept.

As if they were guided by the hand of the marketing gods, Pixar has delivered one of the best trailers of the year (right up there with Iron Man) — finally, we see that the film has an amazing depth — we have action, adventure and even a love story. Incredibly creative and possibly masterfully crafted, Wall-E is beginning to look more and more like something special. Time will tell how this brilliance will translate when it comes to box office success, but I find it hard to believe that families (and big goofy kids like myself) won’t grasp on to this if the marketing continues in the right direction.

Wall-E is directed by Finding Nemo helmer Andrew Stanton. It’s human voice stars include Fred Willard (Anchorman) and Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm)

Sound Off: Discuss amongst yourselves. How does Wall-E make you feel?
