Why Brad Pitt Won’t ‘Play’

First and foremost you have to ask yourself what kind of frame of mind poor old Brad Pitt is in these days? I get the distinct impression that he is being profoundly tormented by his inner demons as to how he ever got involved with Angelina Jolie in the first place!

Sure, Angelina’s one spectacularly beautiful, sensual, sexual, strong willed talented female. But I have a funny feeling that she is one tough chick to live with, love and endure. So naturally Brad must sit around half the day, in a daze, with his head spinning, asking himself “Why am I still here putting up with all of her shit?” Because as we all know — she is one superfine hot female.

As far as Brad’s business decisions go, I’m guessing that they can not be all to clear and rational during this phase of his life and career. Let’s face it, if you can even believe 1/3 of what the tabloids say –this poor dude must be living in hell under the boot of tough willed Angelina. Its akin to asking a crack head after 7 days of bingeing, “Would you like another hit or would you rather go bowling?”.

But with Brad, just getting out of the house and working isn’t going to keep his mind off of his dear Angelina these days. So he finds some excuse and bows out of Universal’s movie, State of Play under the guise of script problems, according to Variety. Sounds kinda lame to me to tell the truth. I think he just wanted to be back home with Angelina and said fuck this movie.

Here’s my tiny complaint. I have no love nor hatred for Universal or any other big studio multi-national, soulless, conglomerate, corporation in the movie business today. They are there to make a profit on a product. This is understandable. But the one thing that keeps baffling me time again time again is: How do all of these movies go from pre-production to actual production WITH THE SCRIPT NOT BEING FINALIZED?

Is it me? Am I a little old fashioned? How hard is it for SOMEBODY to put their foot down and DEMAND that the script be COMPLETED TO SATISFACTION. BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY MOVE INTO PRODUCTION?

I mean, come on people. Somebody has got to get their shit together and STOP going into production with UNFINISHED SCRIPTS. Is that to hard for all of these big wigs to comprehend and understand?

So it’s difficult to say where to actually put the blame in this Brad Pitt dropping out of State of Play. Bad script? If so, why did he take the role in the first place? And if the script truly does need many re-writes, then why did the studio go into production in the first place?

Hollywood, ya just gotta love it! How could anybody hate such a completely bizarre place chalk full of such beautifully, scarred, dysfunctional creative artists? My vote goes to Johnny Depp who should have had the role in the first place.
